Author Topic: Minecraft Megathread; yeah its update 1.12 big whoop what about it  (Read 6715463 times)

I don't understand the resource menu. Is it searching your whole computer for 'available' resource  packs? Or is this just for organization? :o

nvm, it's like 'inactive' and 'active'

I keep forgetting that there's more than just texture packs now.

We need a screen like that resource pack menu for biomes, being able to completely remove a biome from a world generation
(assuming I figured out what the 'biomes have classes' thing meant)

Biomes having classes as in they are broken up into 4 types, and using that generation tries to prevent directly clashing biomes from generating adjacent to each other. It will be rare you find combinations like deserts next to taiga, for instance.

I get what it does, but what im thinking of is like if each biome had its own number, and you could also remove that number from the generation, but if its based on groups instead, that ruins what I was saying

It's not a number, it's a type. This isn't an order, just a precaution.

Totally waiting for those clay hills to flood my Alpha world with the wonders of clay architecture.

Cmon 1.7!

I can't help but highly doubt it, but here's to hoping that whole Mojang blog on the subject means he's finally ready to let us test it. I'm going to sleep, probably won't wake up until after the time they normally put out snapshots. If you're interested, check for it around the normal time.... I've lost track with so many snapshot-less weeks...

Edit:

Individual control for various sounds. Master volume in the top left. Also:

Biome map tweaks, now with more oceans: http://imgur.com/a/HiVco
Oceans will now generate at larger scale at times. Land will still overtake them, but overall they don't end up looking like giant rivers. It feels like it's land masses in water.

I'm looking forward to this update

Too bad there isn't a "cave noises" option.

yeah, an ambient noise volume slider would be nice

Those noises used to scare the crap out of me when I first got the game.

They don't scare me, but they do a good job of spooking me and putting me on edge.

Thats why I will never ever ever have sounds on again until they have an option for it. I do not want to spend 20 minutes of my life to install an single mod so I don't have cave noises and bat noises.
