Prototype - Can't play it.

I just started a new game and instead of showing me the first cutscene it crashes, I was frustrated cause the very first scene the game opened with would crash me to desktop with the prototypef.exe failure message, and said something about the prototypef.dll module.

For prototype, rename
-prototypef.exe to ut3.exe
-prototypeenginef.dll to utenginef.dll

I tried that aswell but it crashed at the same point as last time.

Why would Prototype want you to change the name to UT3?
get some professional help. It might be that a file is corrupted. Happened with my PC version of Sonic CD  :(

Its ither you don't have enough RAM or you just need to get it on a platform.
Or you CPU just donsen't have the right grapics card or software

See if windows event log says anything about it
(control panel -> admin -> event log)

(although admin panel is completely empty for me :/)

Is it possible that this would happen if the .exe file is corrupted?
I didn't bought the game, a friend of mine gave it to me and now I need to live with a cracked .exe.

The game worked fine on my dad's PC when I played it with the CD.

No, you just got either a messed up crack or it didn't work for some reason.

No-CDs are illegal, unless you own the game (in this case you don't). I advise just using the CD itself :/

I use them for almost all of my games. I don't have the time to spend searching an CD and changing and bending over and stuff :|
