:o Is there something that says Fawkes is a girl?

in the place you find fawkes the computer outsice the door says the test subject was female

Quote from: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fawkes
    * Contrary to a comment about Fawkes' gender made by his voice actor, lead designer Emil Pagliarulo has confirmed "No, Fawkes was absolutely a male. This was a mistake. Wes gave an interview and he was mistaken. Trust me, Fawkes is and was male."[1]
o Confusion sometimes ensues concerning a computer entry about a female occupant of Fawkes's cell, Subject D624. Confusion is caused by the vagueness of the results of the occupant of that cell, whether or not the formerly female occupant mentally degenerated and was terminated like the others. Later entries on the same computer indicate that all test subjects were destroyed after failure, so Fawkes was put in the cell some time afterwards.
o Fawkes's previous gender could have been verified before the debate over his gender by examining his tattered Vault Suit: The seams match the configuration of the Male vault suit.

    * Fawkes is without a doubt a former Vault 87 resident since he wears a Vault Tec issued 87 jumpsuit, and that if the player asks about him Fakwes will say that he does remember walking in hallways with other humans in white and blue uniforms. Other than this, his identity is nothing more than a mystery. It may be possible that a boy mentioned in two terminals might be Fawkes: Jason Stevens. On Peter Stevens' terminal (near the entrance), he lamentes the death of his son Jason. Later, on a medical lab terminal, Jason Stevens is listed amongst the "Unexplained Deaths" (which is implied to be victims of kidnappings for subjecting to FEV tests).

tl;dr Fawkes is male.

If you have a mod, it's possible to get all of the followers.

Is it bad if I blew up megaton without doing any of the quests there except Wasteland Survival Guide, and I started that one with Lucy?

Only if you need exp and extra supplies. I killed the town, ransacked their homes, dropped all the stuff off in my Tenpenny tower room, then blew the hell out of it. tons of bad karma, but with a couple of followers, it's worth it.

I am trying to decide whether I should use Fawkes or Star Paladin Cross as my companion, any ideas?
If you've got the Lawbringer perk, I would defintely not suggest getting Fawkes. He uses a Gatling Laser, and kills most Human enemies at a far distance. That sounds rather good, but it's exceedingly annoying. With the Lawbringer perk, you need to kill the actual Humans to get their fingers, and that goddamn Super Mutant keeps stealing my kills >:o

Also, which would you say is better as a companion? Jericho or Charon?

I've been using Charon for a lot, but he keeps using his Shotgun, and he gets too close to enemies for my comfort. He's able to hold himself, but he tends to be done for if there's a DeathClaw attacking.

K I have a few questions since I just really started playing :3

1. I started a guy that's going to use power armor and energy weapons (as opposed to being sneaky and using small guns on my other char), and I want him to be a neutral karma guy. How do I do this? Blow up megaton or not? Choose some good/bad? Choose 'neutral'?

2. Do followers die forever when they die? You guys make it sound like you can get em back.

1) Power Armour isn't equipable from the very beginning of the game. You have to have gotten about 75% of the Main Story Line completed. THen you're trained to wear it. To keep yourself Neutral, it's probably easier to do this than you'd think. I just kept doing whatever the Hell I liked. If I wanted it I'd take it, if I wished to help out someone, I would. If you end up too far Evil, just pay some caps to a Church. If you end up to far Good, go rob a couple of people, possibly even a murder or too. I'd suggest not blowing up Megaton if you want Neutral, seeing as doing so sends you stupidly evil, I think max, lest you're max good anyway.

2a)Followers do die forever. Human/Ghoul/Super Mutant/Dog they all die. Some more frequent than others, and some practically never. When a follower dies, he is dead for good. No way of getting them back, so you do have to keep an eye out for them. You can get a perk for a certain follower "Dogmeat, a Dog" When Dogmeat has died, a Puppy(s?) will be waiting for you outside Vault101 and I do believe they have more health. Anyway, with that Perk (Which requires an Expansion/Add-On) Dogmeat is allways capable of joining the team, either herself of her puppies.

2b)Followers dying forever also depends on what you're playing the Game on. 360 or PS3, then they're gone for good. If however you're playing on the PC, you can use the Console to cheat them back.
Using a cheat to revive your follower once they have fallen, means you can allways have them.
THere is also a cheat to make a Follower invincible, so to speak. By which I mean, whenever they get killed, their character simply goes into an unconcious state, and lies on the floor. They get up in a few seconds, and continue fighting.

I use Charon with t51b power armor + helmet and fully repaired chinese assault rifle. He is practically invincible. Stuff doesn't degrade on followers, which is nice. Thats why I dont wear the unrepairable t51b myself.

blowing up megaton gives you the most negative karma in the game
