Author Topic: we need someone to make a sticky topic about event discriptions :o  (Read 1017 times)

well im your average intermediate eventer.. and I know about half about what all the events do and such

I was wondering, why cant some make a sticky topic about what all the events do and such... like:

OnActivate ~ does something when you click the brick

Client ~ does something that can only happen to you

CenterPrint ~ sends a message in the center of your screen

etc. (sorry for my wording)

Many new players would find it useful for learning how to event, and we would have less nooby event spam (unless people don't use the forums)

Discuss.

Most of them are self-explanatory apart from "onActivate".

"onProjectileHit". Hmm.

"onProjectileHit". Hmm.
I still can't figure out what that does

Same for onPlayerTouch...

well, i was thinking like the major ones, like addVelocity, or FireRelay

(cause some newbs don't under stand what the numbers mean ._.)

Masterlegodude has a relay tut on YouTube I think.

addVelocity adds speed. The three boxes correspond to X, Y, and Z. At least, I think they do.

Solution: Experiment! It can't harm anything else so just try things to learn.

Except for KillBrick, that's probably something you don't want to set.

i knew that, I was talking about other people

Kill brick was taken out of V12

Kill brick was taken out of V12
...No it wasn't, I see it on my list.

i kinda understood it because I am smart and on activate was kinda hard to figure out, i was using onplayertouch for a whole month before i checked out the events for the lightbulb in the demo house.

The killbrick event has been removed for v13 as I have never seen a legitimate use for it (cue complainers).

and like spawn projectile because of the numbers for the coordinates  sorry if this is bad spelling

First set = where it goes
Second set = random spread on where it goes

First set = where it goes
Second set = random spread on where it goes
where would it go? in help?? or somewhere else???
