Author Topic: The decline of survival horror games  (Read 4536 times)

As far as single player survival horror goes, I agree, it's getting really hard to make me even react when something happens on screen. When something jumps out of the shadows at me I react by using pumping as many bullets as needed in to it's head and continuing as if scripted scary events didn't even exist.

However out of all the online games I play goes, I play zombie master more than anything else. Not for the scares but because I like to mow down hordes of nasty critters.

The last game that thoroughly scared me was Penumbra.

I'm in the mood for some scary games, so if anyone has any suggestions, I'm totally up for it.

Most games just startle you. They don't really build up the tension.

Bioshock wasn't scary for me, it was just a damn good game.

Fear and Fear 2 are the only games that still creep me out

loving Alma popping up when I'm grabin health packs >:I

When I was around 4 I almost shat myself playing it. and I loved it.

Ok, I just played dead space the other day because everyone said it was "the scariest game ever" 5 minutes in I was laughing the game was so stupid.
Die.

It was messed up.
i was playing it with my cousin and the first level when the splicer comes out to get you in that room after you go through the glass tubes that are bursting all around you.
i was searching some stuff then i look around and BOOM the freakin dude hits me and scares the crap outta me.

Also, Fort frolic had me really worried when i first went in there

Games like that aren't scary. It's more of a "messed-up" or "stay-in-the-dark-until-you-see-a-cheap-pop-up-of-a-monster" game.

Nope. Im hell sure you havent played Dead Space.
Also, Tman has some forgeted up senses.
Many time ago he made a thread of "Make me laugh" And the members posted all the funny jokes, images and videos from the internet, he did not loving laughed once.

Every game I've bought so far that was supposed to be "Scary" isn't.

Dead rising,

Bioshock,

Half-life. (Well, the Itcyosaurs were scary.)

For the love of.... please only because a game has some loving "Scary" things on it, it doesnt mean it was supposed to be scary, these people is getting on my nerves.

Stop being a god damn ass. People may find things scary that you dont, that doesnt mean you get mad at them.
God damn.
