I mean, you either scan the disk or give the key, depending on what the game has.  Valve allows you to scan the game disk and they will probably give you a key, if you lost it on another account.
Give an example of this, I have no recollection of anything like this happening.

<3 Oblivion

I have it for PC, and i hate to tell you, I cheated on it when I first got it.
No fun, just playing to watch the storyline and see if i can do this/that.
But that was a couple years ago, and now ive gotten a new, better computer, and am playing with higher settings and lowr cheats, and it is FUN.

BTW, same thing happened with Fallout3

The only cheat I used is TGM to transport a 6k item to market district.
I got a horrible deal for what it was worth.
and what I went through to get it.
well I guess it was considering I used up ALL MY DWARVEN ARROWS!!

I stick to buying games like this for consoles so I don't get tempted to cheat, sadly I still get tempted to fast travel. If I had it for the computer I would be able to download one of the add ons that disable fast travelling.

Fast-travelling is not cheating.
It is a way to avoid running into wolves, (if you have a high level) monsters and mages.

Of course it is also an opportunity to find forts and stuff.
Also shrines and quests. I helped this one guy escape his own painting.
And immediately after he kicks me out of his home >:(
Same thing with this dude I helped escape dreamland he AND his wife kicked me out.

The people of Cyrodiil are very inhospitable D:<

Yeah I fast travel to much on oblivion :/ I'm not as bad on Fallout though.
