WHAT THE forget IS THIS stuff?!

I'm just trying to SAVE MY loving GAME.  I must create an account, go through millions of loving steps, realize I need a "parent e-mail" AFTER using the family email, so we use a sub-address.  THEN it decideds to crap out, so I have to make a new "gamertag" and then, we have to make the parent account. I have to enter my CDkey AGAIN, and now I can't just copy-paste, I have to type in every box.  Then we have to update to the next "gamer update" so I can save my "gamer game" and get "gamer achievements" so I can get "gamer score".  Microsoft, tacking "gamer" on everything isn't cool.  Also, WHY DON'T YOU loving USE STEAM, I BOUGHT THE loving GAME ON THERE ANYWAYS.

Who else hates this bullstuff?

Yeah i have a game that uses that, Its too much crap so i just don't bother playing online

Yeah, I hate that stuff. If I wanted an xbox, I would have bought one. Just let me play the game without loving around with unnecessary bullstuff and I'll be happy.

Microsoft loves making the users life easier.

They want to tie Windows LIVE in with Xbox LIVE. It's utter BS.

I bought GTAIV off of steam and installed it. When I started it up, it asked for me to log in with a Windows Live account. Since I had an xbox live account, I used that. Once it finished downloading the profile information, it crashed. It does this every time. After researching it, I found that there is some problem with Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit, GTAIV, and Games For Windows Live. Because of this utter bullstuff, I have to use an offline account and therefore I cannot play online. I paid $50 for this game, and Microsoft makes it incompatible with their own loving software.

...

Still better than Apple, though.

Although I just bought an iPod. ._.

When I purchased my legitimate copy of GTA IV for PC, I was plunged into a deep stuffhole by Microsoft's utter determination to combine everything under the LIVE name. I had to update Games for Windows LIVE, which subsequently shifted Fallout 3's save directory to wherever the loving hell it decides it wants to put it, so if I wanted to load any of my previous savegames without moving them to the new obscure location I could pretty much just go eat stuff.

Fortunately for me and everyone else who agrees that it is sloppy, obtrusive and a steaming pile of stuff, Games For Windows LIVE can be fixed. By "fixed", I mean "removed".
XLiveLess - XLiveLess for GTA IV, the XLive DLL patch that disables GFWL in exchange for not being able to play online multiplayer.
GFWL Disabler - Fallout 3 GFWL remover. It's done through a handy GUI interface for the computer illiterate.

Funnily enough disabling GFWL can improve performance and load times. Quality software!
I'm still on the lookout for other GFWL disabling patches, so PM me if you find more.

ive never had anything wrong with GFWL probably since i already had a gamertag on 360

Well, for FUEL it would most likely disable multiplayer and saving the loving game.

Fallout 3 uses it.
Oddly enough, when I go to open the in-game STEAM GUI, look what pops up behind it, Games for Windows Live!
Anyway, thanks SolarFlare. I'm gonna be using that now.

Microsoft has to have a monopoly in every computer market so they can make everyone's lives moneyless easier!
