Makes HL2 look more up-to-date with high res textures, HD models, improved sounds, bloom, hdr, and an amazing cinematic soundtrack. The HD character models are in a separate package called the "v9 HD addon". This mod also ports everything to the superior orange box engine.

- FileFront doesn't host the V9 Base and I can't find any Americana mirrors. Just download from the GameArena mirror for now, or look for your own mirror. Do tell me if you find one.
- GameArena *disabled* the HD package for some reason (more likely no reason) and I can't find any Australiana mirrors. I've contacted them asking them to enable it and I will post the link as soon as it's available.
- 9.5 was never released as a standalone client. You must download the 9.0 base and the 9.5 patch.

Because Steam forgets with stuff and messes it up, you need to launch it from the shortcut you should find in Start >> All Programs >> FAKEFACTORY CM9. The steam overlay will remain functional.

This is true. It's not a problem for me, though. I have an Nvidia Geforce 9800GT with 1GB vram and seem to have a steady 150 fps. With all the high-res textures, I'd say you'd need at least 512mb 256mb of vram, and 512mb for best performance. Vram isn't everything though, you'll need a good card too.

The textures look worse than the default ones in my opinion.

The only things I see in this mod is the true HDR, draw distance, and atmospheric effects.

Well, I suppose you probably could run it on low, but that really defeats the purpose of this mod. Although I suppose you could at least enjoy the new sounds and music.

I don't see the point.  WOW HL2 LOOKS BETTER.  Oh, wait.  It already looked great.  I don't need all of the bloom and such to enjoy a game.
