Vista doesn't have an oversized taskbar
Right-click on taskbar -> properties

Vista isn't as laggy as Windows 7m.
Blaming your sucky computer on your OS, eh?

What the forget?
Rex has a lovey computer. You have a loving laptop. Major loving difference there.
Who said I RAN it on my laptop?

I have no idea what you're talking about, windows 7 is running better than vista, at least for me. If you hate the taskbar, just change around the options and it'll run like vista (and you can still get those snazzy new taskbar menus).

No technical understanding?
you seem to be lacking

I'd prefer graphical OSs over command-lines.
where are these command lines in either vista or 7 you speak of?

It needs tons of RAM to run without being slow
tons would imply needing more then you have.
sounds more like a personal hardware problem you have.

it would take up nearly half of my laptop's HD space
your computer only has 50-60 gigs of hardrive space?
sounds more like a personal hardware problem you have.

complication
the more complicated something is, the more possibilities it offers.
and even then, a computer is only as smart and functionable as its user allows it to be.

I wasn't talking about Vista or 7 when I said that. Learn2read

I have a lot more than the requirements state, but after final installation, it'd take up over half.

No, I have 130 gigs.

Not if it's unworkable.
and even then, a computer is only as smart and functionable as its user allows it to be.
Fail.

Like I said before: learn2read.

your computer is only using half your ram and you think that's to much?
the whole point of ram is to be used, the more that is being used, the faster/better your computer will run.

since when was ram usage a bad thing?

Didn't you get the memo?

From now on, what he says goes.

If you run the maximum amount of RAM/physical memory, there's no room for any more programs to run. Obviously you don't study much.

Obviously you don't study much.

Haha honestly - you start a drama thread going "omg everyones so mean to eachother" then you mince about taking cheap potshots like that at people. Way to be a gigantic friend and a hypocrite in one post.

funny thing about xp vs vista

xp was all about needing more and more ram installed. because it multitasked everything at full memory.
but vista and 7 switches up the memory with whatever the active window happens to be. way more efficient.

so when you idle your vista desktop and you see it using 7 of 8gigs of memory just to look at your clock.
that's a GOOD thing. your getting your moneys worth.

Sonicfan, vista does not take up 65gigabytes of hard drive space. You're a loving idiot. Everything you have stated in this thread is false, and your hardware is outdated. Stop blaming new software because of what your ancient hardware lacks. It's fine to have outdated stuff, but to blame new things for not running well is a load of stuff.

My computer is such a dinosaur, if I showed you my specs you would wish to keep your Computer.

Windows 7 comes out on my birthday
:D
