I have Vista, It's fine for me.

If you cant afford 7 when it releases then downgrade to XP. Vista is a RAM hog, a Hard drive hog, and a Memory hog.

By memory i mean virtual memory whih is how much your computer can process at once.
RAM is what keeps lag from happening
Hard drive memory is, of course, your disc space.

I'm going to say this once:
YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT COMPUTERS.

Memory is referred to as RAM, aka Random Access Memory. RAM will have no effect on "lag" seeing as how "lag" is when you have a high ping over a network connection. However, RAM is how much your computer can store without having to load off your hard drive again. Having faster RAM/a processor with a good FSB speed will help decrease the time it takes to add things to itself.

Having "Virtual Memory" is using your hard drive as RAM, which is very slow, and probably shouldn't be used. (even on SSD's)

Mac's are now overpriced PC's, pretty much. They use the same processors that PC's do now, which makes them...a PC. You could buy a PC that's just as good as a Mac for under $1000, probably.
Plus, it's your fault that you can't take care of your PC and let it get bloated down with malware.

Vista doesn't "hog" any of my RAM, and it never really bothers me with questions. My vista starts up in about 30 seconds Most of the time, it's just the people that use the computer, not the computer.

You need only 2 GB of RAM to have a good Vista experience, and a newer Intel integrated graphics chip if you want to run Windows Aero and maybe a few games.
