A Blockland Add-Ons System Suggestion
Wouldn't it be great to have an official, organized add-on system here in the forums?
For every add-on submitted into the system, it copies the files in the add-on which are needed for others to use it in-game.
As it copies the needed files for every add-on, it is all added into one big download.
The download would be easily updatable, similar to the RTB mod manager updater.
This system would greatly reduce in-game load time, since most add-ons are from these forums.
The only add-ons we'd ever need to download would be unreleased add-ons, which have never entered the system.

For this system to be possible, we'd need:

1. Everyone host's their add-on on the same site.
2. All add-ons are inspected, similar to RTB.
3. All add-on's must be set up in the same fashion.  (For example, they have have a description.txt)
4. Failure to comply with rules #1-3 results in the failure of the add-on.

I wrote this all while loading on a server.

That's funny.

I think I know what you mean.

Theres a place like that.

Its called RTB Forums :D

Seriously, you're just asking for RTB.

No no, you didn't read it right.

RTB does not have this system.

Why can't he just say a big add-on collector that collects everything but the scripts, so other people have all the files they need.

Oh, so, you basically want us to download every add-on?

Then I would get stuck with about 15 M4s and Ak47s and all that generic stuff.

I like our current Add-On system.

We don't have to download tons of stuff and we have the option to enable/disable it as we please.

No, not the actual add-on itself.  Just the non zipped files necessary to use it in-game on other servers.  You have to download it anyway if you join.

That's just about the entire add-on, what wouldn't you need, a .txt file?

Its opposed to having the .zip, so you dont have to go through tons of add-ons when hosting.

Its like a big ass installer in a way. Just for add ons. Hmmmmmmm I think i can host an installer and i could put updates Yep i can do it i think.
