It doesn't have to look like a solid beam, plus, using your method wouldn't function correctly. By firing a projectile at something, it would set coordinates for the bot. If you shot a bunch of projectiles, it would create the coordinates over and over again, probably causing unneeded lag. We need function before aesthetics.
You sure about that?
Because it seems like you don't understand.
Each bot has a different laser pointer. And instead of hurting them it turns them into a new playertype, like survivor, but for each bot there is a different one. And if there is, say, a healthbotplayertype and you shoot someone with that laser the health bot would be attracted to that player, rather than the other players. And if you shoot multiple people the health bot will heal it in order of most health needed to least health needed.
Same with the kill bot, it would kill them in order of greatest health to least, in order to be more efficient.
But coordinate's would work for a shield bot, you shoot the ground and it walks over to you to deploy itself.
It would probably be hard to script, but the idea actually makes sense. Just use playertypes.

P.S., the playertype for the health bot goes away after they are fully healed, and can't work when their health is at 100%.
Warning - while you were typing a new reply has been posted. You may wish to review your post.i was actually thinking you couldn't hold it as a solid beam
Uh, what? Its a laser pointer. Not solid except for on the tip.
