I just started homeschooling this year and I'm having a blast. I never was very social, so I wasn't affected much by that part of it, I still get to see my friends on the weekends. I'm going to start working through some sort of self-study guide for the GED soon so that I can at least try to graduate high school before all my former classmates.
To answer some of the questions in the original post: I'm home schooled because I wasn't learning a lot in school. For example, all I learned in Science class was how much my teacher hated the organization that wouldn't allow him to have pink flamingos on his lawn. Who's homeschooling me? I'm learning everything myself through books.
Also the video was hilarious, and I'm pretty sure it's obvious by now that I enjoy homeschooling. I'm not very sure what you're on about.
EDIT:
That video put it best. What if you and your "teacher" don't get something?
Well for me, I'm no good at math, and neither is my mom (the stay home parent), so starting this month I'll be having twice weekly sessions with a math tutor.
