I love you too.

You're both handicapped. Now keep yourselves ontopic. This is about RTB, not Ephi's ballsack.

So how goes the XMPP integration?

It's fine, I'm focusing on RTB 3.X at the moment with server information almost done. Then it'll take a while to rewrite a chunk of the XMPP server to meet RTB's requirements.

Weren't you a global moderator way back?  Most likely just my terrible memory.

For the voting ratios, maybe you should force people to vote when they comment, or force a vote every 5 downloads or so.

Forced voting would mean people would pick whatever just to make it go away. I want ratings to be meaningful and to actually reflect people's opinions of add-ons, so they have to want to submit the ratings.

Besides, people can't give a proper vote if they haven't had the chance to try it.

The best way would to be to reward players for voting. Question is, what do you even have to reward them with?

Brownie points!

True.
Rewards could have the same effect though, people would vote random stars on countless add-ons just to get said reward.

reward for writing a detailed review?

I guess rep points could be used for people who write detailed/useful/honest/reasonable reviews, but that would require people to read all of the comments and stuff, until the rep system is public.

The best I can do is make it as easy as possible to submit ratings whenever you feel like it, and it makes sense just to put that in the Your Mods section.

I probably forgot to mention, but I did a lot of work on the RTB API architecture a few days ago to sort out some load issues and apache segfaults we were getting. I ended up compiling a super lightweight build of PHP with only necessary libraries which has decreased the memory usage on the server bigtime, increased capacity and also made things a little bit faster (more noticeable at peak usage times).

It's always getting faster, faster, faster...
