Ephi, out of curiosity, where did you learn Torque anyway? Did you work for Garage Games like Badspot or Kompressor?

age of time!

I had a thought about something with the RTB prefs, being able to set a 'sever description' that can be seen somehow through a new gui or something.

It has a limit of 190 characters, and it's purpose would be to describe said server. Would this be possible, and if so, were you planning on anything like it?

Maybe to add something like this, RTB could simply allow configuring $Pref::Server::Info which is a default variable, and then actually show it in the Information dialog.

The variable is already here, the game just doesn't use it anywhere.

Yes please. That var's always been there, it'd be nice for it to have a use. Maybe even a default BL one...

I'll be closing up this thread soon to kick off the new RTB5 development thread.

There is going to be one feature update to RTB4 which is the addition of player-owned rooms but that is probably going to be the only notable change, besides bug fixes and so on.

RTB5 is where things start to get very exciting for both me and you guys using RTB. I'll be talking about all the plans I've got in the next dev thread.

The gallery stuff and online storage is what's coming in v5 right?

The main feature is the online save repository and gallery, yeah. There are a lot of other smaller things I've got planned though.

Will there be a beta for it?

I doubt it, there's no in-game functionality that needs to be group tested.

So this means we can put builds up for download? Or is it going to be some sort of "safety deposity box" for saves so we don't lose them?

Essentially both. There's a lot more to it but the rough idea is that your saves will all be on RTB by default as a backup, and then you can choose to publish those saves to the gallery which will do a bunch of cool stuff. Like I said, more details in the thread to follow.

Can't wait to see it. :)

I've noticed that whenever I have the overlay open, then go to another program, it is EXTREMELY laggy, but when the overlay is closed, everything runs smooth.
