Since I've been away from the server for a while, here's a nice project update (wall o' text):
Jobs
First off, I've just about entrepreneur ed out the jobs to the point of ass-kicking by giving just about every category two paths that they can follow. Some of the new specialized jobs include Secret Agent, Master Thief, Peacemaker, and Senator. Sooner or later we'll tier the shop jobs, too. With these new jobs come some new abilities, like tax deductions for Diplomats and Ambassadors.
Excluding some Police jobs, Official jobs, and Criminals, everyone's names are now the same color (white). Criminals are a slight off-white, so they can blend in but are still spottable. Police jobs still have their very visible blue, but the Secret Agent and Undercover Cop jobs are able to blend in with a low-visibility white name to get the jump on those nasty crims.
I rebalanced all of the jobs to accommodate the new system, so you'll need to re-familiarize yourselves. From simple things like special abilities right down to your name visibility and color, there are tons of things to consider with these new jobs, and I have to say they're all balanced quite well. For example, Vigilante used to be able to arrest, assassinate, and overall kick ass, but they're now true to their name of a rogue hero who helps the innocents regardless of consequence and are more focused on arrests.
I'll upload some charts so you can all visualize this when I get around to it.
Weapons
In case you guys haven't noticed, some tier+tact weapons were screwy with ammo and some weren't even on the server as we planned. I'll be working on bug fixes in that respect and hopefully we'll have some BA weapons shortly.
Arrests
Hey you! Yeah you, criminal! Sick of those nasty cops jailing you with rapid fire batons? Well be sick no more! MetroTech is working on a solution to all of your autobaton woes, coming soon!
Other
Other than that, I'm not entirely sure what Diggy's done on his list other than the stuff required to make my updates possible on that end. I know he was talking about getting some work done to improve assassinations, self defense, and a system that deducts some exp every time you switch from one job category to another (i.e. police jobs to shop jobs), but he was pretty busy with some stuff for the job update since it's kinda massive.
And yes, this new revamped jobs system most likely means another reset. But that's why we're beta.
Toodles!
