when id ownload metro and i go to addons on blockland when i open it like ok when i go to blockland and try to make me a sserver and go to addons it isnt there so i cant enable it -_-

It only works on this server. It is also client sided so I don't see how you could get it to work on your server.

Bushido is right. We should begin getting rid of unused supposedly "historical" buildings, and begin shrinking the island from places no one has yet populated. This goes for Niliscro's old jail, as well. Unless we plan on bringing that into the city, it's to far, and unneeded. In fact, there's 2 more abandoned police station's as well, but I'm pretty sure Swat's trying to fix his or something. Either way, we need to shrink down.
In case you didn't notice, much of the city in that general area is unfinished.


alright i've got a suggestion for you

i just got more or less baited into beating Classy, who was previously wanted, 4 stars, to a bloody pulp (the only reason i call this baiting is not only was he standing stock still and walking up to me but he also had his friend, a cop, at the ready to jail me) with the police baton and had to disconnect from the server to escape what i would call a pretty major flaw in the cityRP system

so in addition to fixing all the other stuff wrong with the weapons that exist (they don't swing in first person, the grapple hook exists in the first place, etc) you guys need to make the police baton not do damage if a player is not currently wanted (but still give demerits as if they were and you were assaulting them). that way, cops who are unaware of a target's recent change in demerit status can walk away from a potential jailing and demotion without any serious harm to anything but their pride

also the city should be smaller. seriously i know we're going for "huge scale huge feeling" here but without AI cars and civilians the city feels incredibly empty
Batons, to my memory (which is incredibly untrustworthy), never used to do damage, so unless diggy wanted it that way, it can be fixed.
And on grapple ropes, I see why you want to get rid of them since they're generally unfair, but we need some reasonable replacement for them before we can even think about removing them.  I think some type of one-time use pill that increases player speed and agility for a period of time would be a decent replacement, but we need one made first.



Dig, I didn't get a chance to email you, but I'll just post some of my ideas here:
First, turn much of that empty area near the labor board into mountainous terrain of some sort, with a few lots for players to take, unless you already have plans for it.
Next, we should proably make it so if a baton kills a wanted person, it still arrests them.  That would be a temporary solution until we fix whatever is making batons kill wanteds in the first place.
Finally, I don't remember if the District Attorney has a wanted-level restriction for placing bounties on wanteds, but it would give hitmen and assassins something more worthwhile to do if we made the DA place bounties on all wanted levels.   Also, if a bounty is completed as an assassination, we should add a 10% bonus to the claimer.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Hey, i've decided to read the rule about no random killing, I couldn't help to notice the ''no random/pointless killing in in excess '' part.

''Random/pointless'' killing should be over 6 ticks, after that you can't get any more jail time! and what's the point of having 6 ticks in jail if you can only get like 1 kill per tick? if some guy wants to accept the consequenses of killing/spreeing he should have the RIGHT to kill!!!!

Good news, where expanding the subway stracks! Diggy and me are going to make a few stations. On the side note: The MPD building will be the main subway station for downtown.

thanks for all the suggestions, too bad they wont be used. hah. Anyways, I got a bad cut on my hand at work and won't be on for a couple days. Continue complaining.

On-topic: Lumber prices need to go up. I don't like sitting there for an hour chopping/mining for chump change and no EXP. Criminal just winds me up in jail. Bounty Hunter or whatever you start as is pretty boring and I can't be a cop due to someone jailing me. Well now I'm stuck with 2 exp and an amount of lumber to sell for 60 dollars.

And on grapple ropes, I see why you want to get rid of them since they're generally unfair, but we need some reasonable replacement for them before we can even think about removing them.  I think some type of one-time use pill that increases player speed and agility for a period of time would be a decent replacement, but we need one made first.
Grapple Rope must stay. I can't imagine to play at Diggy's without grapple.
To have less and maybe more worthy users, increase the spawning price (mush)
and have less jobs that spawns with it.

On another note: [Suggestions]

1) Gun prices should be bigger. By how much? All prices multiplied by 3.

Reason:
1. A S & W (Smith Wesson) pistol costs around 600$. A gun here cousts nowhere around that.
2. Currently people who think they are rich can just buy a gun, and not give stuff if they die. They don't lose much money.
3. More or less everyone owns a gun, killing even randomly with it. Only "advanced" players should be allowed to kill.

2) As a addition to the pill I have a different idea. Mutagens.

Mutagens are modifications to the playertype, once used they issue a temporary (till death) "additional" abilities to the player.
Mutagens should be items so they are storable too.

Flying mutagen: Buying this mutagen will let you use jets for 1 second, buying 2 flying mutagens 2 seconds and so on. Price: ~1000$.
Fall Damage mutagen: Buying this mutagen will let you fall from any height withought getting tamage. Price: ~700$.
Speed mutagen: Buying this mutagen will modify your player giving him additional speed. The value the speed is multiplied by a random value (1.00x - 1.75x speed), buying another mutagen will give you around the same value (1.00x - 1.75x speed), but never under the first mutagen value.
As in: If you buy the first speed mutagen and you get 1.25x speed the second can't be a value under 1.25x. Price: 250$.
Pyro mutagen: Buying this mutagen will make you imune to M2 Flamethrower brick fire, and a direct hit will make you take less damage. Price: 350$.
Jumping mutagen: Same as the speed mutagen. Except the values could be (1.00x - 2.00x jump)
[Police] Baton Mutagen: After buying this mutagen using the baton would be faster after buying everytime.  Price: 500$.
Reload mutagen: After buying this mutagen you reload 2x faster, usable once per player. Price: 400$.
Athlet mutagen: After buying this mutagen you can only use it once, but it makes your player jump & speed 1.75x. Also you move faster with bike & reload faster. Price: 1750$.

3) Hiring a spy:
After hiring a spy for a price, eventually 500$, you will receive data about a player, lumber, lots, tax, pay, bank money etc.

4) Advanced stat tracking:
A non-stop track where your kills & deaths, times jailed & times getting jailed, total ticks spent on server, total bullets fired, total money networth will be tracked. This could lead into new jobs, as in a new police job where you can get it for EXP & an [y] amount of times jailed.

The spy is a good idea for criminals.
They can see if theres ANY undercover cops in there mafia.

Those mutagens wouldn't work/would be a bitch to do because I believe you'd have to make many player types and have the player switch to them.

Also, you seek to make prices more realistic and yet a mutagen, which if they existed would be very expenses, is relatively cheap.

It doesn't matter if the gun prices will be increased IMO. The little bastards out there will save their money and go spreeing anyway not caring for themselves and the jail tick time.

1) Totally agree, but realize that it's not going to help that much.

2) That's pretty much what I was getting at when I quoted Bushido about removing the grapple rope: ability enhancing capsules.

3) Feasible, but a lot of details would need to be worked out, such as who can do it, if it's always a success, etc.  In the meantime, you can always pay me $500 to /stats someone ;D

4) Completely excessive, and will only increase the amount of memory being used by the mod, amount of code being processed, and the amount of data being streamed.  A.k.a. it will make the mod much less efficient and ultimately slower and laggier.  I'm just as much of an infophile as you probably are, and something like that would be pretty cool.  But like I said.
