Author Topic: GMOD Crashes when I start it up  (Read 1559 times)

Well, it appears whenever I launch my recently bought GMOD, is will crash and give me the old "hl2.exe is not responding." Then that Vista stuff about searching for a solution. Yes, I have Vista. Usually, it has that little loading screen with John Freeman putting a cone over G-man. What do you think is wrong? Is it because of vista? I suspect that the whole "not responding" thing happens because it is loading and not moving, and maybe if I reached the Steam Community through it, it'd sense activity. But I can't access steam during the loading.
EDIT: Made the title less ambiguous

That only happens to me when I purposely crash it.

Can your computer even run it?

dose your pc meat the requiremts?

Take it to facepunch, we aren't gmod tech support.

It's not Vista, unless you have some stuffty setting on that forgets with things/forgets things up.
I can run Gmod perfectly fine on our computers with Vista. As the above have stated, it may be your hardware.

John Freeman

Dammit it's just a citizen model; it's so annoying when people refer to it as "John Freeman," which wasn't even that great.

Frankly though, it's my favorite citizen model.

Yeah, Male_07 is my favorite model.

Ah. Sorry.

I can run Half Life 2 at great settings, same with Portal, TF2, etc.

I do think it mentioned my video card might be too bad for it. stuff, this topic was probably pointless then.

Oh, well lots of people play it here, I'd figure someone could help.

We're better than them.  For the official community, it's sad.  I asked something on the help forum twice, and both times, they ask something, I answer, then it dies.

Gmod is really unstable for me, i have tried 4 different ways of installing gcombat and all of them broke the game

That's not really instability, you're doing something that the game doesn't come with default.

If I remember right GCombat is not updated for the new version of Garry's mod
