It's well-known that Guitar Hero games have been coming out A LOT lately, and I'd say that I'm considering it a bad thing. I understand that every new game has a lot of updated stuff, reworked engine, better graphics, etc.
This is awesome, and you can really see the progress from GH2 (First one I played) on through what is now GH 5. I got "Smash Hits" for my birthday, because I'd much rather play "Freebird" or "The Trooper" rather than sit through more of Nirvana's crap that I know is on GH5.
There's not much to review about this game, it's pretty much a nostalgia trip. Playing songs from older games on the new engine with all the new features is really awesome. That's about it. Pretty much all really good music, my favorites are all on there (Except for Hangar 18) so I'm satisfied...
The only complaint I have is that the last set list is reminiscent of GH2: It's too loving hard. I honestly can't beat a single song on it. I've made it through GH3, GH4 and Metallica on expert, but wow.
I've thrown the controller down in frustration 7 times now.
Good game, not reasonable for a DLC so I'm satisfied. It
is just another Guitar Hero game, so don't expect some new ungodly revolution here. Just different music and a new story.
