as the desc says, its a first person shooter. right now the combat system is being revamped because too many people bitched about it in CB3..
basic FPS, point and shoot..but there are rules..
rules like a normal society, unless your LED/FDC and have permission, you cannot walk around with a gun in plain sight, gotta have it holstered or you get stunned+arrested.
if you have drugs on ya, and an LED scans and finds em, you get a hefty PP (Penalty Point) fine and get arrested and sent to DMC (Prison Facility, De'Morgan's Castle)
attack someone, and you get penalty points for assault..kill someone, and you get PP for murder.
there is an exception, if you are attacked, you have the right to defend yourself.. (they can check by scanning you after the incident, if you have no PP, then you don't get in trouble)
if you have enough, LED (Law Enforcement Department, police faction) can arrest you and send you to DMC (Prison Facility)
LED have special rules too, the main way they are supposed to battle the criminals is to STUN & ARREST..only shoot to kill if its the only option, or its ordered..
LED can put out warrents, Arrest Warrents and Kill on Sight warrents..if you arrest a most wanted criminal you get a lot of FC and exp (Exp and FC count towards promotions, and within LED Conduct while on Duty also counts)
there are 2 main stun weapons, the Enfield (Tazer) and a rifle that shoots rubber bullets.
to get weapons and ammunition you gotta purchase it at a market terminal, then goto a storage locker to collect purchased items..(there is a good place in new york police department area where both are located close to each other)
one of the other factions has to create the items first though (they mine and refine the materials and produce the items for marketing)
there is a way to lose the game, that is to die 9 times in a row without purchasing a new clone (or if they reimplement it, Clone Insurance (which is a "monthly UC fee" to make sure you dont run out of clones, UC is Universal Credits, the form a currency) to earn Currency, you do missions (when you first start playing, you get a list of Objectives on the right side of your screen) to earn FC (Faction Credits), then at the end of the week the R7 or whatever assigned rank calculates your total FC and pays out the proper amount of UC to your bank account.
years ago there were also group missions that you could start/join that players created to do certain things, like patrol, raids, etc...don't know if those are in current closed beta right now, but they it might get put in Open Beta.
