Author Topic: Buying GUI (New News!)  (Read 1644 times)

Intro
it would be a GUI kinda like the counter-strike buy GUI that you could only buy it from a certain Base plate, you could change the currency to score or dollars, and you could set the price of certain weapons, the host can even get rid of some weapons that he doesn't want on the list of weapons (AKA mini nuke so no one gets an over-powered weapon)

GUI
say you only wanted the default weapons up for purchase, it would look like this for a normal buying user, you can even make it sets! (AKA demoman Medic etc) you can now have it so that if you want to only but one weapon, a pop-up will come, and have maybe this,

would you like to buy:
AK47?
100$

Gun 15$
Guns Akimbo 25$
Rocket L. 50$
Horse Ray 30$
Sword 0$
Spear 26$
Bow 10$
                                                      CANCEL        BUY
Lets say you wanted to get the sword, you would get in in your inventory and lose nothing since its free.

a general idea of the GUI, now for the Host GUI, it would look the same but you could change the prices, currency, and weapons

Base plate rules

The host would be able to make it so you can buy only on the base plate, or anywhere, even with events you could do it, you could also add buying time, that way you could make a more realistic CS sever. However,if you have it so you can buy anywhere, if you are in combat, you cannot purchase anything if in combat (like being shot at) and after combat, you have to wait 1 minute to be able to buy again,
You can even have separate GUIs that sell different things from the list, you can also make something for a gun picture (if possible) and a little list of guns that are different from others, for example

SMGs
MP5
Mac 10
assault rifles
AK47

and so on...

More coming soon!

discus your thoughts about this.

Variable events.

added bundles, like say if you wanted a soldier class...

added buying time, that way if you wanted a realistic CS sever...

NEW: added combat time, so if you are in combat you cant buy, and you also cant buy after 1 min after combat...

NEW: added picture, organized list (see Base plate rules) and other places that sell different things from a different shop, also added purchasing only one gun or tool or weapon, see top for details

You could use REALLY long ifLastPlayerMessage Events. Example:
OnPlayerTouch - Self - ifLastPlayerMessage "Sword"
VariableTrue - Player - subMoney (or whatever that weird event is) "20"
And then you do that for the rest of the weapons you have on your server. Or at least that are for sale. CoD4 is probably different, but do we really need that kind of layout? If you love such a game, go play it. Keep Blockland like Blockland.

Also able to add new weapons. And change the prices. It would be nice on descent cityRP servers.

added, i forgot about it ;P

You mean decent?

i think im gonna add "buying time" so that way if you want a CS sever, you only have a limited to buy

I'd kind of be against having people have to click through something in the heat of battle to purchase a weapon or something. Sure, purchasing weapons in the heat of battle doesn't make a lot of sense, but there isn't any reason why someone shouldn't be able to do it. Maybe the combat moved to the weapon purchasing room, or you want to limit a power-up to a person with a certain amount of money or something.

I'm generally a strong advocate of "more GUIs, less slash commands" but I think in this instance both GUIs and slash commands could be more simply replaced by having players press E while they are standing over a weapon to confirm a purchase and placing these weapon dispensers in a spawn. Something I hated was getting killed while shopping around in CSS.

Bold 1: Some short of Battle detecter?

Bold 2: This could work also.
