How Blockland is like The Imperium of Man

Let's pretend for a moment that all blockland versions before the engine change in V9(?) are the dark ages of technology. The engine change would be the warp storms that interrupted man's development, with the chaos god slaanesh (TBM) being born out of this nothingness. Meanwhile, all technological progress made by humanity is ended, for reasons that are never fully explained. The adeptus mechanicus (addon makers) on Mars quickly snatch up as much technology as they can (porting addons), and jealously guard their secrets until imperium (Community) encounters them. At this point they share their secrets with humanity, and they both progress into the future. However, every day new discoveries are made, and slowly progress is being made.
