Author Topic: What is the best way to make you games run smoother?  (Read 2971 times)

What is the best way for less lag (higher FPS (frames per second)). Isnt something like a video card? Or a ram? And if it is one of those do i find one specificly for my computer at like a bestbuy or something of the sort? The reason i am asking this is because i want to buy to orange box but im afraid of complete lag because i dl'ed the portal trial and everytime something happened other than me walking i lagged. So i want better FPS and for everything to run smoothly. I got AA3 and i have 4 fps throughtout the whole thing no matter what.

P.S. sorry for wrong section if it is, theres no section for gaming help.

NO.
If you aren't going to spend money, lower the game's settings, it's horribly unoptimized.
If you are willing to spend money, get a new processor, or video card, or RAM, but it depends on the situation.  You should post your specs here.

Post the specs of your computer.

There really needs to be a stickied post telling idiots what the forget a computer is.

I know what a computer is?

@everyone- I want to upgrade my computer (aka spend money) so my games will run smoother and some of you might laugh at this but why are specs?

If it's a game on Steam, right click the game and go to Properties then Launch Options, and type -autoconfig

???????
I'm on my phone and didn't notice. Is your whole life about findig problems in people and making them feel bad about because of your insecurity?

No, I dislike giving help to people who could figure out these simple questions by Googling them. Stop being a lazy cunt and type a few more words.

Are you talking about the topic or the specs thing? If it was the topic well, I wanted opinions from other computer people. If it was the specs thing well... Didn't think about it.

No, you could google "how to upgrade my computer" and find out loads of information about what each part does and their importance. You could then come back here with a list of selected parts asking for a review.
