So you openly admit God isn't perfect?
I admit it. We aren't perfect and we were created in his image, so it's only natural to assume, like us, he is capable of goofing up. Doesn't demean him any more in my eyes.

Tell that to The Russian.

I don't know if he'd listen. lol I'm not exactly what most hard core Christians would consider in "keeping the faith." Too many compromising and controversial ideas buzzing through my head for that. :)

Not to mention he created people with the ability to be tempted and then he creates something to tempt them and then he blames them for breaking a rule.
I told you this on another topic. Looks like someone doesn't pay attention.
Life is a test. He created us to be a likeness of him, then we sinned, and he sent us out of what the Bible calls "Eden". From there it became a test to see who was worthy enough to go to Heaven and have eternal life.

If we were in the likeness of a "perfect" god we wouldn't have sinned in the first place.

The Bible is for Moral Values

Roman Catholics like me know this :3

The Bible is for Moral Values
Quote
Who is it that should be put to death again? Oh right, it's homoloveuals (leviticus 20:13), adulterers (leviticus 20:10), disobedient children (deut 21:20-21), women who are not virgins on their wedding night (deut 22:13-21), all non-christians (luke 19:27), anyone accused of wickedness by at least 2 people (deut 17:2-7), anyone who works on the sabbath (exodus 35:2-3).

and the bible has such respect for women! like how it's disrespectful for them to speak in church (1 cor 14:34-5), or how women cannot teach or have authority over men (1 timothy 2:12).

but you know, it's all right since you can just become a disciple of christ, but first you have to hate your family! (luke 14:26). but first we must have a sword, so sell all your clothes to buy one (luke 22:36).

Wizard is saying what I have for a while. The Bible has no valid moral principles. We'd be better off regarding Inglorious Basterds as a good ethical code.

Yes, however, at the time there was no other form of punishment. There was no jails, no lawyers or penal systems, jails, or law enforcement. The military had to deal with all of that and frankly at that time, they had better things to worry about like invading countries to deal with whom slept with whom and little johnny stole an apple so they simply killed them. Times have changed and so have punishments. Plain and simple. The book reflected the times. A little research would prove that.

So the bible is completely obsolete and should be ignored completely?

Yes

There's alot of principles that can still be used today.
But at the same time, there are alot of principles that have become obsolete over time.

The only principles still used today are the rational and common sense ones that no one needs the bible to know, so bye bye bible.
