I'm sure they are options in the subscriptions.
Even preorder people have to fill that screen out to play

Life-Sub forget yes. Don't care about the price as long as its a life sub.

Well I won't be able to bother with the game for a long while now. My car just shat out on me and I'm tired of fixing the damn thing every time I get a paycheck. So no new computer, no new computer parts, no point in even trying to play the game since I can't run it on the POS I call my pc.

So much for my so called life. Hope you all enjoy it.

Crank down all of the settings?

Crank down all of the settings?
Nope, it just crashes after the Cryptic splash screen. It won't even let me get to the game at all to change any settings. Either way, I'm going to have to fix my car or buy a new one so any chance I had of playing STO has gone down the drain.

Wow, that loving sucks.
Walk to the computer store, or take a bus, or call a friend.

Also, the launcher is trying to install a 10 GB patch. Please tell me that's a typo or something. 10 GB is more than the client itself.

Game sucks anyway, made by the same people as Champions Online, very similar to Champions Online, and Champions Online sucks richard. Also Champions Online is 17 bucks a month and you have to pay for costume packs if you want any customizability, and I assume STO will be a similar rip-off. I'm giving it 1-2 months before I buy it to see if it proves me wrong. I remember all the die-hard CO fans on this forum even paying for the lifetime memberships and then 5 days after release saying how much it sucked lol.

That post had no swears, chex. Fix it.

lance needs a puter ; ;

he required a new vid card. as his current one was some 256m one.
a decent PCI 512m-1g video card would require him to also upgrade his power supply.
i would predict $100.00 at least, $150.00 to play it safe on both parts.

but his car blew up at just the perfect worst time ever. and had to pour all money and coming money into that.
a new comp that can game well would be at least 700-800 dollars if your not picky.

rug;
upgrading what you need now would still be worth it. (compared to a new budget comp)

Kinda funny because I played it for like 6 hours and I said it wasn't so good and Chex PMed me saying "You are loving stupid" when he hadn't even played yet.

That's because you're not a hardcore Trek fan like me who would find this game rather enthralling, unlike Champions Online which I hardly even give notice to. *shrugs* Your opinion. I'll find out for myself...If I can ever get to the point of finding out for myself. Bisjac, bring your super puter up here and let me try it out. lol Speaking of...

Well I was at the shop where my car was towed to complain about the problems it had and I noticed an advert for a PC with a dual core and some other junk for $150. I raged because I knew that by the time I would be able to get that thing, it will most likely already have been sold and any upgrades that I might have needed would have been far cheaper as a result.

I won't even know how much I'm going to have to pay for the car until Monday, but I know that since there was coolant all over the back of the engine, most likely suffered from a small electrical fire as a result of the coolant splashing over wires, that I will either be paying out of my ass for the next two or more months, or I'm just going to scrap it and hope my tax income comes in sooner via electronic filing so that I can use that to pay for a new one. I'm leaning towards the newer car as there is no guarantee that even if I get this thing fixed, it won't give me a "3-times-a-charm" breakdown two weeks after that. But I have all weekend to think on that and a new career change as my latest joke of a check was only $320 after taxes.

Ok, I finally got the game working. I get on average 27 fps (sadface) but it's playable. How to join clan. Or fleet. Or whatever. Btw, ship's name is the USS Witch Doctor.

The Yahoo group was posted by Tails on the page 21 but there will be a steam server set up for in-game communications so that if we do run instances we will be able to keep a real-time type of action system moving.

Due to the fact that I'm having a bit of a financial crunch at the moment, I will not be able to head this up at the moment, so I'll have to appoint a temporary fleet operations commander to handle that until the time that I may be able to join in eventually. But I can still head up the site with the help of Bisjac in order to get anything else posted such as updates and the like.

Also kudos on the ship name. :)
