Author Topic: Help deciding: PS3 or 360?  (Read 3424 times)

PS3 is gorgeous. The 360 doesn't even come close to paralleling it's graphics
From personal experience, they're virtually the same. I play my Xbox on HD, and the PS3 I played on was also on HD, and there was almost no difference in graphic quality.

Regardless, I don't care how "gorgeous" MGS4 looked, it still sucked. 2-hour cutscene my ass.

I agree with yuki on the controller design as it is more comfortable than a ps3's controller. Which is why I say xbox.

I'm still leaning towards the PS3, especially since there's nothing about the Xbox I've been told in this thread that I didn't know, except for the iPod thing.  Which is kind of weird, MS running an Apple product.  But it's not like I can't have iTunes playing on my computer or my iPod docked in my iHome while playing the 360.

As far as the PS3 goes, I've learned some new things.

No way, come on man.

Modern Warfare 2 on 360

Here is something I used when deciding: What system do more of my friends have. It's no fun buying a Xbox when all your friends have Ps3 or vice versa.

But Sirrus, those are 2 totally different games using totally different engines. :o

I still think they're the best graphical offerings of both systems.

oh, btw. PS3? Cell processor :o

I'm pretty sure they could get same/better graphics on Xbox too if they ported that game professionally.

Bullstuff. Each car in GT5 has a poly count of ~200,000.

Edit: ha, you just said you think they can get better graphics on a 360.

Sirrus those cars would work perfect for Blockland!  :cookieMonster:

Poly count doesn't really matter, besides: If the amount of polys is so high, they could easily remove some without people even noticing.

And it's racing game, cars have high details, background has moderate detail, and area is small.

I'd say go with a PS3, I love mine and the features I've seen on the 360 don't seem that great to me.

Protip: Graphics don't make the game. Gran Turismo has always been a very boring, mediocre series.

You are so true there. I played the demo of Gran Turismo 5 and I put it down in 10 minutes tops.

Graphics enhance the game, though. They can't make a stuffty game good but they can make a good game awesome. Like HL2.
