why are you getting a PC when you can get a MAC

Well, technically, I am going to learn biology on it, as my biology course requires you to look at some video on a CD they supply every now and then.

Is this biology course coming from a public school?

I was trying to find this video card on Newegg but couldn't find it, the highest I could find was a 5870. WTF?

This seems like a proper topic to put this here, I'm planning on spending the next half a year or so working up cash for my own built pc, and I'm wondering what you guys think of what I've come up with. Remember, it's obviously not final due to the fact stuff is always getting better. And prices are everything. And I'm not a hardware genius so there are possibly a few mistakes.

LOL

Dude, I just want to get biology over with.  My major has nothing to do with biology, so why would I do anything above the requirement?

850 watts of corsair is way too over the edge, I tried the test on corsairs website, and that said I only need a 680, and I have i7-920, 295GTX...
And I am told that my 750 watt corsair will be good enough for SLi or crossfire too.

It's not currently available. AMD has had trouble meeting the demand for the 5000 series.

Only if you don't want to hear anything.  :p
The motherboard has an integrated sound card, just use that, save some money...

case problems
These are valid concerns if you plan to move the computer a lot. It is quite heavy and bulky. The aesthetics of it are personal taste though; I like the look of mine. I have high quality noise canceling headphones so the noise of the case does not bother me, even when not wearing them it is not an issue to me.

Why is he getting a PC when he could buy prostitutes?

why are you getting a PC when you can get a MAC
Why even mention the mac...

I know.  I just want to use an actual, high-quality sound card.

are you an audiophile? If no, don't even bother.
