Author Topic: Their gonna make us pay for LBP water update  (Read 2140 times)

MM?
MM = MediaMolecule = Company who made LBP = LittleBigPlanet = toast

It's DLC, not an update. We don't have to pay for updates. Like TF2 updated classes are free. The classes aren't DLC. You have to pay for L4D2 DLC don't you?

I'm surely going to get this. I saw some gameplay and boats look hot in multiplayer.

Edit: The most expensive DLC so far for LBP is like what, $4.99 anyway.

This quote shows how much people are cheap.

This. But I'm not sure that $5 is the most DLC has cost so far. I think there is something that costs at least $6, which still isn't that much.

I can't wait to make a Submarine that you can drive and use to battle a giant Octo-Shark. <3

I'd paint that submarine yellow.

Kracken!

The only way I could justify paying for a water update is if one of two things were the case with the new update:

1) On-the-fly buoyancy calculations, based on the weight*volume of the prop and props connected to it. (As opposed to Gmod's water system, where a prop has an assigned buoyancy).

2) Fluid physics like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSwASbUzt0s

It's DLC, not an update.

Get over it. They worked Hard to make something. They arent going to give it away for free.

Really, go claw out platinum ore with your fingers, then smelt it the old fashioned way then give it away for free to thousands of people.

The PSP Shirt item was $4.99 also.

Here's my problem with DLC: They make the people that already have the game pay for it, but if you buy the game after the DLC comes out, they usually include it.

Like L4D and Crash Course. I bought L4D for (on sale for $7.50, but it was down from the price of...) for $30, what Valve was charging before Crash Course came out. Did I buy L4D? Hells yes. Did I buy Crash Course? Hells no. Did I get Crash Course? Hells yeah.

Basically, they're punishing people who already own the game. If people who buy the game after the fact have to buy water, then fine, but don't bundle the game with the DLC that other people have to pay for.

Edit: Crash course was free on PC. I'm sure they bundle it with the 360 version now, though.

Badspot makes free updates for the game that add huge improvements, and the game is only $20. If a small time indie dev charges $20 for a game and then free updates/DLC/whatever, why should some big company that charges $60 for the game also charge for updates?

Because it can and it makes money because people will [probably] buy it.
