That's incorrect, ODST takes place directly after the New Mombasa missions in Halo 2, therefore DURING the events of Halo 2. Not in between.

Very good, there's lots of stuff you wouldn't normally know in it, like the new MJOLNIR armor and the SPARTAN-III's.

That was a different book. And he broke his arm because the armor has motors to give soldiers added strength. But those motors were too strong for average soldiers to use.
