Author Topic: Build me a compooter.  (Read 5498 times)

Oh BTW guys, I'm not going to be getting this any time soon. There's the small issue of actually getting 3/4k.

Are they like faster or something?
It depends on what parts you use. I assume better parts = just better everything.

I haven't checked compatibility yet but with my motherboard and cpu combo it would cost about the same as visage's cpu and mobo.
Taking that mine is somewhat better than his.

As for cooling. Do you know how to overclock? Do you plan to do it?

EDIT: The 9800 is fine but your performance may be bottlenecked since it isn't one of the Next-gen cards. I would get Visage's but that should be more than enough.

I guess you can get the 9800, it isn't as good as the 4870 but it is slightly cheaper, and if you like Linux ATI sucks on Linux, I think I heared you mentioning you liked linux. And yes get his CPU and mobo setup.

Should it have ramps on it?  :cookieMonster:

Then why do you want them to build it now? Stuff will change between now and then. Also the Blockland members aren't the best at building computers.

EDIT: I built this computer for around $850.

ATI Radeon HD 4890
Phenom II x4 3.2ghz
4gb DDR3 (1067mhz)
750gb HDD
ASUS motherboard

Hey! ~Dikaios

I might take your CPU + Mobo combo.

As for overclocking, I haven't decided yet. If my cooling is decent and I can do it safely then I think I might.

Two words: Price projection. If I know how much it's going to cost me, then I can adjust how I spend money to save for a huge purchase like this.

Edit: another alternative. Would I be better suited cost-wise to buy a better graphics card and put it in my stock computer, or would my crappy processor/cooling prevent it from operating at it's peak performance. Or, at least, not make any noticeable difference in-game.

Ram is slower than an asian, me and Liam both picked monday-fast ram.

Overclocking isn't to hard but don't push it. It also voids your warranty.

lol.

I wouldn't want to spend more cash on the RAM, since it doesn't make much of a difference in gaming. Also my RAM got a 7.5 on Windows 7 rating system. So it must be pretty dam good.
