Server is off for a while due updates and stuff.

Eventually Valve will do another Cheater's Lament thing, where all the non-idlers get a free ___ while all idlers get all hats confiscated.

Because they can totally detect that's you're not moving around or doing anything.

The Cheater's Lament was for people who didnt use an EXTERNAL Idling program.

It had nothing to do for standing around and doing nothing.

What IS idling anyway?
Standing around and doing nothing in hopes of getting items/achievements in TF2.

Because they can totally detect that's you're not moving around or doing anything.

They can look how long you played a several map and how much your k/d was in that time.

Up to date and ready to get connected to (bla bla bla, there are still some weird loadout bugs where you don't load your weapons after death, but you shouldn't care much about that, you will still get your unlocks).

That's the point. Yes.

It won't kick you so if you have to handle a real life you can join a idle server and have as much chances to get a unlock/dupe like the nolifers have :D

If your real life is so much to handle, why bother playing video games at all? Sounds like a bad excuse.

why bother playing video games at all?

Friends, communication and fun.

I get home at 5-6 or even 7pm, eat something and chitchat with my parents, get my stuff ready for the next day and take a shower. I have time from 8pm until 2 or 3am, then I go sleep and repeat my whole day.

Idling is for cool people

OP edited for connection infos.

DID YOU KNOW:

The less people in a server, the more likely you are to get items?

It's true!

Field tested!

Every time a player plays for 25 minutes the game randomly draws a decision for the player. If the player is lucky (20% per item chance) then they will get a randomly chosen weapon or item. If the player is unlucky, then they receive no item that time.
There is a separate timer that counts every 15,430 seconds (4 hours, 17 minutes, and 10 seconds) you have a 3.5714% chance of receiving a hat.
Every 25 minutes of play, a player has a 20% chance of receiving a random weapon. The average time for getting a single item is 1h 40min (including duplicates).
Since weapons are granted via a random number generator, experience may vary.
