Author Topic: Screen Recorders  (Read 3874 times)

Anyone know of any good screen recorders? I already know of Fraps and Cam Studio, but I'd like to know of any other good ones. Must be for Windows, preferably with sound recording, and free programs come first, though I will purchase one if there aren't any good free ones (which I'm guessing there won't be, but who knows?). I didn't want to Google "screen recorders" because who knows what has viruses in it.

Programs Tried:

The Good
  • WM Capture: Although a little shaky at the bottom, great quality and records sound card sound

The Bad
  • Cam Studio: Poor video quality
  • Taksi: Crashed whatever programs I had open when I stopped recording
  • Fraps: Bad video quality when not published as AVI (This may be a WMM problem)
  • Hypercam: Ahahaha no
  • Procaster: Records in .flv which isn't very compatible

Get Anti virus program. Also Fraps is going to be the best one to get.

Yes, I'm actually recording this with Screen Recorder Gold right now. It's free too.

Taksi is a free and open source screen recorder.
http://taksi.sourceforge.net/

It does not record sound, however.

Taksi crashes all of my programs whenever I close it.

Hold your camera phone up to screen while you plang, that is how the pros do it.

Fraps is the best unless you pay.

I sense piracy.
Also, I use Camtasia Studio.
It comes with a screen recorder, with an evaluation of 30 days.
But I had a key. Also requires a graphics card greater than 64 MB to do record higher than 30 FPS.

Use procaster.

It streams to livestream, but it also records for On demand, which you can download to your computer.
