Author Topic: Computer not turning on  (Read 1787 times)

Open it up and let it air out/completely get rid of all the dust.  Just because it's a laptop doesn't mean it sucks or that it isn't fixable.

It's laptop
take it apart anyway and look inside without losing any parts. :P

Well it started up from stand by normally this morning but it said it was locking up, and the. Was completely frozen so I tried restarting it. It says it's on but I don't see anything.

stuff I missed this.  Hold the power button to make sure it's off, the buzzing should stop.  Try starting it up again.  If it starts up but you can't see anything, the screen has burned out.  If it doesn't start up, I'll keep thinking.

I tried this, and I can't see anything
i could se things before though...

So it starts up but you can't see anything on the screen?  That would suck.

If that's not what is happening, try pulling the battery out and waiting a minute or two before putting it back in.

Still isn't showing anything on the screen.

But it is turning on?

Try showing the computer some researchographic content, and then it might turn on. :cookieMonster:

Or if its furry, It could be turned off!

*badumtish

Well you're really in the stuffs now.
True, take it in smartone.

If the screen doesn't do anything, it could be the GPU that's fried, rather than the screen itself.

Problem: Laptop doesn't turn on.

Solution: Get a new desktop, don't bother with laptop stuff.

If you really want your files again, learn how to take out your hard drive and plug it in to your new computer.
