Author Topic: Vote for the best DS first person shooter  (Read 2755 times)

The DS has proven many times that it is the superior portable system for playing first person shooters away from home, and now it's time to choose the best FPS. I don't think I forgot any, but please tell me if I did and I'll add it. Also, I'll quickly go through each game and list the good and bad.

Call of duty 4: Modern Warfare
The Good:
  • Excellent Multiplayer
  • Good story mode
  • Graphics were not bad for the DS
The Bad:
  • No online
  • Single card features were very limited
  • Controls could have been better

Metroid Prime Hunters
The Good:
  • Excellent graphics
  • Great multiplayer for both multi- and single card with online.
  • Story mode was fun
The Bad:
  • Single player was repetitive
  • Occasional lag
  • The variety of weapons wasn't great.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized
The Good:
  • Improved graphics
  • Up to 6 players on multiplayer
  • Huge number of weapons
The Bad:
  • Terrible AI for both enemies and friendlys
  • Single player was hard
  • Aiming down sights is more annoying than ever

C.O.R.E.
The Good:
  • Quake styled multiplayer
  • Multiplayer features were virtually the same for single and multicard
  • Featured crouching, jumping, and alt-fire
The Bad:
  • Single card downloads were unbearably long
  • Single player was balls hard
  • Not a lot of game-modes and maps for multiplayer

Dementium: The Ward
The Good:
  • Good flashlight mechanic
  • Graphics were good for DS (It actually scared me once or twice :3)
  • Fun and lengthy single player mode.
The Bad:
  • No multiplayer
  • Couldn't hold flashlight and a weapon at the same time
  • Checkpoints were far away, causing you to repeat a lot of parts.

Call of Duty: World at War
The Good:
  • Wide variety of WW2 weapons
  • Multiplayer was improved with weapons that spawned on the map and online
  • Introduced achievements and a few other neat features
The Bad:
  • Some maps were poorly designed
  • Teammates sometimes got in the way
  • Some mini-games and vehicle parts were harder than they should have been

Moon
The Good:
  • Looks great
  • Neat vehicle parts
  • Runs smoothly all the time
The Bad:
  • Repetitive level design
  • Generic story
  • No multiplayer

GoldenEye: Rogue Agent
The Good:
  • -?-
  • -?-
  • -?-
The Bad:
  • -?-
  • -?-
  • -?-

Again, please tell me if I missed any games. Please do not vote if you have not played any of these games, because it's not funny and just proves you are an ass hole that has nothing better to do than screw with a poll on DS games. Also, in case you are wondering, I have played all the games posted above. (And I've played Brothers in Arms on the DS, but that is not an fps so do not complain about how I haven't added it.)

That's an opinion.
I for one dislike the DS. Other then maybe for mario. But I haven't played any of those games on the DS before so I don't have much of an opinion.

The DS is a nice portable gaming system but in my opinion any FPS on the DS is terrible, it just doesn't feel right

I didn't say it was great, it's just better than everything else. And, once you get used to the controls, you can move and aim just as easily as you would on a console fps without any cramping or pain in your hand.

Anyway, I only know of 2 other portable systems that have first person shooters, and the controls are a lot worse than the DS.

First, the PSP. It has excellent graphics, but the problem is that the joystick is on the left and console games have you aim using the right stick. Not only is this confusing, the control stick isn't even that precise.

Second, the iPhone. Using two "joysticks" on the touch screen, it seems like it would work well, but it ends up being sticky and difficult to use.

So if I wanted to buy one for both multiplayer and online - no single or multicard local multiplayer, what would you suggest? I've been looking for a good online multiplayer DS game.

No, the superior portable system for playing first person shooters away from home is, and always will be, PC.

So if I wanted to buy one for both multiplayer and online - no single or multicard local multiplayer, what would you suggest? I've been looking for a good online multiplayer DS game.
This pls.
The only FPS game I've played on DS was CoD4:MW

M:PH is the only game on here I've played, but looking at the other pros and cons, I'm sticking with Prime.

Wheres Goldeneye? D:

I knew I forgot something!

Also, I can't find that loving game anywhere. I want to be able to say I've played every fps on the DS, but that one loving game has disappeared off the loving face of the Earth. Also if anybody could right 3 pros and cons for it, I would appreciate that.

Only DS FPS I've played is Metroid: Prime Hunters. I remember playing multilayer with a bunch of friends. That was a lot of fun.

But then I got Mario Kart DS, the best DS game in existence.

I don't think it's the best, but you're missing Bionicle Heroes.

Both aren't really that hard if you get used to it. And I've found the stick on the psp very precise.

I prefer Call of Duty: World at War out of all of them.
