Im here looking for other FF fans, not likely going to find many in this community.
i stopped playing the standard single player FF games after the ps1 versions. But the mmo ones are more like spinoffs of the franchise, very different.

- FF14 is pretty much the sequel to FF11 MMORPG. expected to release sometime this year on PC and PS3.
cross platform servers so all players can still play together.

confirmed gameplay:

Real time combat
every FF game has been realtime since after FF10, but i thought it should be mentioned because even many years later, there is that false stigma that people not following the series still believe its old school turn based.

No levels, no exp
the combat is almost a ripoff of oblivion (i think that's a good thing)
where skills are earned/unlocked/upgraded by using them, and by questing for them.
not really a skill tree; just many skills for every type of item/Armour/weapon/ability/spell

Jobs/classes
So far confirmed, the common 32 FF classes returned. with new or forgotten ones added they are being vague on.
Instead of the normal selecting of one you like most. you all build generic characters at start, and the game determines your job depending on the skills you start to increase and the items you equip.
The skill balance wont allow a super hybrid of more then 2-3 types. so you still pretty much end up with your version of a DD mage, healer, tank, support rouge, DD melee, whatever.

PvP
ff11 pvp was more minigames, and unnecessary content hidden from main gameplay.
in 14, your expected to take part in your nation's pvp missions.
Every player is required to fully play in parties, single player, and pvp contents to build a successful character. so no one part of the game is over/under used by all general players.

Basically, im looking to keep in contact with anyone from this community that was seriously going to join game when its released. would be good to start out together.
