Because it's everyone's top priority to help you with every problem you have.
This isn't drama you know, don't get angsty.
Not everyone here is a computer expert. This is the off topic forum for a goddamn online lego building game. Maybe they saw the thread, knew they couldn't contribute, and left. You could be more of an ass, you know.
This. I mean, would you want half the 12-year-olds telling you half-baked computer theories?
It turns out nortons crap service only backs up pictures. All of ny 500 plus models so far are lost. My mods are lost. my builds are lost. My adobe expensive products are lost. All my steam games will need re instaling. But at least i have pictures of all the stuff i lost.
Couple of ideas.
Perhaps see if the BIOS battery is out or loose. It may be a possibility.
Have you tried using the Windows CD since that?
If all else fails, if both your computers use IDE or SATA, then you could get the HD from the dysfunctional computer, set it to slave and put it in the working one as a HD accessible through the main Windows install, and then take all your important junk out of it.
Notes:
-IDE is the big, flat, ribbed, gray cabling, its not hard to spot.
-SATA is usually a flat cable running from the HD, and smaller than IDE. It comes in a few bright colors.
(You should only have IDE or SATA from your HD, not both. Don't look for both!).
-If you can't access your Boot Menu, which is a pity, then you can't adjust the boot order, which could be what is not allowing you to access that disk.
-The BIOS battery is, logically, a rather small battery on your Motherboard, that is, the largest chipboard onto which all the other ones slot into. It looks just like a watch battery, and the computer uses it to start up initially and keep a few important things going.
