I've seen that the demo came out and downloaded it.
I was very disappointed when I saw that Sonic drives a damn car(three months ago). He's not supposed to drive (Sonic Drive was still a good game anyways).
But other then that, it's a damn good game.

The controlls are easy. The right shoulder button is for accelerating the left shoulder button to drift and the A button to use items (X for PS3 obviously).

You can choose between one of 22 characters of the world of SEGA including Ryo, Billy Hatcher, Alex Kidd and even Banjo & Kazooie (why them? They're property of RARE not SEGA :s)
The items are nothing special but unlike in every Mario Kart game each character has their own "All-Star Power". Something like the Smash-Ball in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Sonic will transform to Super Sonic and gain a speed boost and auto-controll (like actually all other characters) until the power ends, so stay steady.

In the demo I got the All-Star Power with Banjo & Kazooie. Kazooie will get his magic wrench from the game "Banjo & Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts" you will gain a speed boost and auto controll while Kazooie summon a few Jiggies on the raceway, blocking the way of the other drivers. The cool thing is, each character has his own All-Star Power and thus their own little BGM while using it. So Banjo and Kazooie get their Theme Song to play while using the power :D

There are 24 maps, most of them themed on Sonic The Hedgehog maps (obviously).

Something that very suprised me is that the game will even come out for PC and downloadable at steam.

I'm going to buy it at the end of this month. I'm very looking forward to it :D
Again a game with Sonic that is actually good after all those mistakes the Sonic Team went through.

so banjos gone back to kart racing?

Yeah :D
And his kart has some parts from the Nuts and Bolts game like the tanks and the wheels.

But still. The new banjo looks so damn gay.

Probably Big the Cat's All-Star Power.

SOOOOOONIIIIIIIC

It's good because the developers(Sumo Digital) are the same people who created Outrun and other great arcade sega racing games.

I never really knew what kazooie was untill ol' Grunty said this one harsh sentence about kazooie in Banjo Tooie.

I have the remake of Sonic Adventure for the Gamecube. Big and Froggy are totally the best new characters Sega's made.

No demo on Steam :V

Never a fan of Sonic or pretty much anything but Sega, but I love kart racing :D
