Obviously his dog means something to him. Just because something doesn't live forever, doesn't mean you shouldn't let it live. If my dog were in his dog's situation, I'd sell whatever I had to, just so she could see another day.

Wow i'm stuffting on this kid?  I gave him some pretty good advice and then he bashes it down with a "forget you".  I have been through a dog dying that grew up with me.  I just had to learn that nothing lives forever and that people/animals will die.

Killing a snail isn't something I'd grieve about, though lol. This is a dog, something people could consider part of their family and I don't post in birthday topics anymore (though I used to out of courtesy).

In situations like this, I do care. I felt bad for JD and his father, and now I feel bad for Chewy and his dog. Will it affect my life? Probably not. Though I do think it's right to at least help them out to some degree.

But still, empathy is the key word here. There is no reason people shouldn't care about each other, or have the complex that "Its not me, why should I care?". Such thoughts often lead to pride, greed, and selfishness. Sure, right now its an internet forum,  but what about in the "real world"? Perhaps this is a prime example of how the world has come to be. :/

You should go to the nearest vet and say it's an emergency. Hopefully, they'll understand. I don't know what'd I do if that happened to my dog. I'd probably be near him the remainder of his life, even if that means skipping school and hanging out with my friends.

If the world and even the internet teach me something then is it the fact that you can't trust anyone you've never met and my attitude is based on it.
I'd like to change it but then another mistake could happen. The other thing is that this is, like stated before, just the internet. If I wanted to I could be a steroid junky living somewhere in japan and my job would be a slave for researchos.
