Wouldn't it be crazy if Badspot killed the forums on its 20th anniversary
the real 20th anniversary evidently already happened on march 7th so i think we're in the clear

Someone managed to hack into 4chan's server yesterday and blow the whole site wide open, gaining access to site owner Hiroyuki Nishimura's administrator account and using it to troll the site's userbase before leaking the site's source code and private information of everyone on the site's janitorial staff.
Evidently the site's back-end is running on a nearly decade-deprecated version of FreeBSD with a web stack that is similarly outdated, suggesting that appallingly its web server hasn't been updated once since Hiroyuki took ownership of 4chan in 2015.

Meanwhile in a dusty corner of the internet that only a handful of people are even aware of (and much less care about) we have the Blockland forums: launched in roughly the same time period as 4chan, peaked far earlier with a userbase dwarfed by that of 4chan's on a bad day, largely inactive for the past ten years, and with an administrator that many would agree has been generally delinquent, yet still standing after all this time. Seems like things should be flipped, doesn't it? The old forum for a dead game whose heyday is now a decade and a half behind it should be the one running on a woefully out of date codebase susceptible to countless vulnerabilities that have been publicly documented for the better part of a decade--yet it's the massive image board which is actively serving as a major discussion hub for the English-speaking internet that succumbs to such a fate. Hiro is literally the worst admin of all time lmfao

Taking this question to its extreme, assume the older partner is a 500 year old vampire.

ever since i found out about the icecast directory back in may, internet radio broadcasts became my primary go-to for music. i used to think the radio format sucked ass, but now i see that was just because my only exposure to it had been through local FM stations after they had all been bought out by the same corporate entity and had their playlists trimmed down and homogenized; after trawling through the near-endless variety of stations on the internet i've become convinced it's among one of the best ways to discover and experience pre-recorded music.
some favorite stations of mine are lounge-radio.com, bay smooth jazz, relaxed grooves nyc, infrared.fm, and netpd 1996. these are direct stream link btw so they might not work in-browser; throw the URLs into VLC or better yet download foobar2000 and make playlists of your favorite stations like i've been doing.
semi-related since the subject of equipment came up: i grabbed a usb soundbar since it was really the only speaker option i could make work in my cramped pc setup and it ended up working like a dream with my internet radio playlist: the remote just sends media key inputs over USB so i can navigate from station to station without having to actually walk over to my computer.

probably wasn't worth bringing up but i'm just really satisfied i was able to add another role to the list of many that my pc already serves, i love jack-of-all-trades computing when it's not in the form of some boring hyper-optimized portable rectangle.

if they named every hurricane "friend killer" there wouldn't be a single person staying behind and chancing it once the evacuation orders went out

this is the worst forum thread i have ever seen that isnt betelgeuse gore spam. i would rather have the entire forum collectively bully me over my non-existent building skills, creating entire threads for admin apps to my servers that became flooded with joke responses, overusing reaction gifs, my face, making unfunny threads and locking them when they backfire, spamming all caps in reaction to squid kid game announcements, getting banned for 1 week for telling furdle to die in a firepit, falling for a joke about me crashing minecraft servers, and posting a link to a website that was immediately changed to ballhole all at once if it meant not reading this op
homeboy can't handle a little civil richard and balls discussion

No balls makes sense because how would you forget a pusillanimous individual if the balls are in the way?
you kindly ask the girl to sling em over her shoulder beforehand

having a richard and a pusillanimous individual at the same time is fine but you can't be depicting the richard without any balls. that's just plain weird man

apparently biden's got covid again so either the democrats are going to be running a new candidate very soon or if he survives they'll be pushing one riddled with an unprecedented amount of debuffs (1x elderly fatigue + 1x dementia sundowning + 2x covid brainfog)

i knew it was already over for biden but after this i just think it's over for the democrats in general: even if they stop digging in their heels and ditch him there's no way anyone they sub in is going to be able to compete with the image boost this just gave Annoying Orange.

god damn dude what an insane picture. the photographer who snapped this is probably gonna be fruitlessly spending the rest of their life chasing the high of getting another shot as iconic as that. also lol the teleprompter thing off to the left looking like a minecraft cloud in the sky.

wonder what kind of giga-invasive surveillance legislation they gotta be cookin up in DC as a response to this. thank you secret service for being handicaps and securing the rooftop of every building except the one with the most optimal line of sight to the VIP, i'll be thinking of you every time the twelve-member NSA surveillance squad assigned to keep me in check waltzes into my room to watch me jack off and make sure i'm not having any no-no thoughts about the people in power.

protecting yourself is loving GAY. forget hardhats forget earmuffs forget safety goggles forget steel-toe boots forget high-visibility vests and forget seatbelts you will not catch me DEAD partaking in any of that friend stuff. OSHA keeps trying to make the workplace woke but by GOD i will resist it until my dying breath which i will proudly let out of my very straight very manly body at the ripe old age of thirty four after i get instantly crushed to death by a pallet of roof shingles that was accidentally knocked off a warehouse shelf by an unlicensed forklift operator

damn maybe centralizing the distribution of all the user-created mods for your game onto a platform where you, the developer, have full control over said distribution thus making you bear legal responsibility for their contents was not a good idea after all huh
