"Let the time traveling moron look after the OP, hmm?" -Tom 9:5

Animal Crossing is a series of games in which the player takes the role of a human player moving into a town populated by people-like animals. Gameplay is extremely laid back and consists of doing various activities around town, such as fishing, conversing with the other town residents, and gathering fruit. There are no set goals, though your neighbors may give you small tasks to complete upon speaking with them, which are often met with rewards in the form of customization items. Selling spare items and objects you find around town give you money to purchase new clothes, furniture, accessories, and more. Certain items, primarily clothing, can also be designed by the player. Players can visit each other's towns over wireless and wi-fi to socialize, trade items, and explore. Animal Crossing games run in real time, which means different things happen at different times on different days during different parts of the year.

Series Creator Katsuya Eguchi moved far from his hometown to work at Nintendo. He began to think of his family and friends that he left behind and he built Animal Crossing around that ideal.

Dōbutsu no Mori (Animal Forest) was released on April 14, 2001 in Japan only, and is the first edition of the Animal Crossing series. It was to originally be released on the N64 disk drive with the intentions of using its internal clock, but since the disk drive was a commercial failiure, it was scrapped. It was instead released as a cartridge. This had very notable differences including no Able Sisters, Kapp'n, Blathers, or Mayor Tortimer, there was not a second floor/basement expansion, only one song could be in a radio, instead of an on screen keyboard to type in messages it was a dial, etc.
Dōbutsu no Mori+ (Animal Forest+) was released on December 14, 2001, and is a remade version of the previous version released on the Gamecube, and it takes advantage of the Gamecube's built in clock. Previously mentioned differences were implemented into the game.
Animal Crossing: Population: Growing! was released in the US on September 15, 2002, which is a port of the remade version of the original on the Gamecube! Kinda confusing, but not really. This port included several updates, a few were cultural differences updates, but mainly the content pumped into the game was vastly larger than the remake. Nintendo of Japan was so impressed with the results of the translation done by Nintendo of America's Treehouse division that they translated Nintendo of America's version back into Japanese and released it as Dōbutsu no Mori e+. on June 27, 2003
Animal Crossing: Wild World is the first handheld Animal Crossing game released on the DS in November 23, 2005 for Japan and December 5, 2005 for the US. Wild World was also the first Animal Crossing to feature online play (The older games allowed players to visit other people's towns via Memory Cards, but it was still single-player) and also featured hairstyles and hats. Instead of acres, the game was turned into a "rolling log" visual style which every newer game continues to use. New characters such as Harriet the barber, Brewster the... brewster, and Celeste the observatory owl were added into the game. Slingshots and watering cans were introduced as well, along with many other features.
Animal Crossing: City Folk was released on the Wii in November 20, 2008 in Japan and November 16, 2008. The game featured a city shopping center that players may visit. However this game is notably known to have the least features included into the games.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf is the latest edition of the series released on the 3DS in Novmber 12, 2012 in Japan and June 9, 2013 in the US. The player can now take on the town as a mayor since Tortimer had retired to a faraway island that you can visit to play minigames with others (as apparently the true mayor of the town was late to the scene), and you are able to set up projects and ordinances in the town. The city feature was moved closer to the town, known as the Main Street, where new shops and buildings can pop up thanks to the mayor. New Villager types were introduced, housing exteriors could be changed, designs could be shared via QR codes, and characters had a drastic change from being short, to being tall, thus pants were added to the game, along with many new features.

I will also feature peoples designs, however I would really prefer if it were provided on an Imgur gallery. Perhaps I can do a little nice thing in which every month, a person who does a really great design will recieve 10,000 bells from me or something. Please let me know if that's a great idea! Otherwise...

What is Whose Line is It Anyway? anyway?

No it's not fishing~
Whose Line is a show, originating from the UK, in which four performers, Colin Mochrie, Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady, and a guest improvisor, play through many improvisational games prompted by the host, Drew Carey, to earn points that don't have a practical purpose. Many of the improvisional games include the use of dancing, singing, impressions, the use of the audience, and quick witty actions and phrases. At the end Drew would pick a winner whom would either sit out or play a game with him.

Some examples of the show and its games-

And for those who already knew what Whose Line was...

Whose Line is it Returns, but with a new host?

Although many agree Drew Carey was losing his shine, this new casting call for a new host (Aisha Taylor) was a surprise. However, Colin Mochrie, Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady, and all the other comedic improvisor come back, along with the old musicians Laura Hall and Linda Taylor. My opinion? As long as the improvisors are funny I won't mind the new quirky look and feel to the new show, I'm just glad there's a new Whose Line.

Information

Charles Barkley's Castlecontra Boogaloo: Blockhead Reveangence is a top-down hack and slash game in the works since yesterday. Take the role as a young hero, whom enters Barkley's abode. "Why has he sent raids to our village, taking all the jammers?" you ask youself. "He's a very nice person, something's sketch about all this." Sword, Spear, or Bow in hand, you, with or without allies, delve deep into Barkley's castle for resolution. With Blockland's new features, this map is able to encorperate events with bots and camera events! This build is about 19k bricks right now, as we are both trying to conserve bricks along with give it a simple yet appealing look during high-octane fights. As of now only the first area is complete.

Questions and Answers

Q. What else is being added into the game?
A, 1. Shop to spend doshes, gained after fighting a boss. We're planning on all the items to cost the same so that way you are still limited to a few weapons.
A. 2. Shack'ille O-Heal, an area to heal up before every boss fight or so.
A. 3. Rare item drops in sacs. These'll come from SECRET BOSSES, or are at least bound to be.
A. 4. More weapons, we are practically using default and we'd like to have weapons that have tiers.
A. 5. Music, to enforce the theme. A majority will be simply Quad City Djs vs Any Video Game song

Q. Why top-down player and not just normal first/thirdperson player?
A. We found that simply using no-jet player was too easy as we could easily abuse the spear to our advantage. It also wouldn't have the charm we feel it has.

Q. Do you plan on finishing this or should we just assume it'll be shelved?
A. As of right now we're really wanting to finish as we all have some great ideas swinging about as we build and we can't encorperate them all. I have a feeling if we continue this very fast pace, we'll be done by the time the week is over.

Q. Why Space Jam?
A. Iunno.

DRAWING DRAWINGS - DIGITAL DRAWINGS

My hand-drawn style is sketchy. My digital style is often cartoony and pixelated. Although I probably could go a step higher with other programs, for a while I've been using Paint.Net. I lack a tablet as well, therefore I use a mouse. I believe that the mouse is a great tool for sharp and accurate lines and marks, however it lacks pressure detection and the such.

Please get excited for "Adventuring Children!"

Facepalm had posted a neat sprite in the Pixel Art topic, and Flatflyer suggested that it would be a great boss. And thus, this project was born. As of now the name of the game is a work in progress. I'd need to finalize story things and the game to decide on it.

This is a game planned to be a mix between Mother, Pokemon, and Shin Megami Tensei. The tank sprite above was graciously made by FacePalm, and it birthed this project!

A house in the village. I was aiming for a modern-esque cabin style.

Interior shots are angled similarly to that of Paper Mario.

Your rival is planned to always be the opposite/complementary color of yours. Your friendship with him/her play a big part in your journey.

The main basis of the story is that you are an ambitious youth (instead of a child living with your family, you are simply a youth who lives alone in a secluded village) whom, with your rival, are preparing for a journey across the world to see the sights, as per village tradition. One night, your rival comes over and needs to vent with you, so you both head off into the forest. After some conversations, you reach a clearing in the forest. Two strange gauntlets shine bright within the moonlight, and you both decide it is a great idea to put them on. Lo and behold, as you fiddle with the gauntlet, 4 warriors emerge from the gauntlet. The gauntlet is a summoning device of sorts that will digitally spawn an entity from a chip that can be used for battle. The rest of the game is your travels with your friends around the world, and you uncover the backstory behind the gauntlets. The backstory is floating around the topic.

The Gauntlet is a rustic, tacky device. It sports a sleek touchpad screen, along with 4 indicators to show the status of summons. It is currently unnamed.

The sprites thus far, minus a few that aren't on yet. A few are simply requests however and will not be used.

Gameplay follows this fashion; You find a chip, be it on the floor or from a person. Each chip has their own 8 special moves, and their own affinities and weaknesses. When found, they start out level 1, but you can train them to your hearts desire, I have not planned for a limit yet but I am planning 100 as per normal fashion. They are divided into classes by their stat strengths, but that is simply for the sake of organization. In battle, you will fight monsters, normally whom are not summons. You have a ready phase in which you can decide to engage in battle, use an item chip (to heal or revive and such), brown townyze the enemy, or run. Then, you decide what your summons do, be it attack, use a special move, use a held item (as opposed to Pokemon, they are not passive and they have to be used during a turn, at the least most of them), or simply defend, and then it is the enemy's turn. It is planned that the difficulty of the enemy will be shown by how many cracks are on the screen, as will be shown below. The battle's outcome depends on what chips you decide World travel consists of your run of the mill puzzles and conversations. I am looking to create a fast paced game, however.

The following are images of enemies planned thus far:

Enemies range from goofy and odd to (hopefully) menacing and dangerous

Games / Spiral Knights - Iron Guilds
« on: December 18, 2012, 01:28:41 AM »

Download - Website - Wiki - Forums - CE Price Watch

Spiral Knights is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game, commonly referred to be Zelda-esque, developed by Three Rings Design and published by Sega. The free-to-play, Java-based game was released to advance testers on November 12, 2009 and to the general public on April 4, 2011. In the game, the player controls a knight of the Spiral Knights order, which has crash-landed on the mysterious planet Cradle. Knights collectively explore the Clockworks, the mechanized, constantly reorganizing dungeon that fills the planet's interior. The knights equip armor and weapons to aid them in their battles against the monsters inhabiting the Clockworks. When they are not exploring, knights trade with each other and with vendors, in order to improve their equipment.

Updates to the Guild Hall along with new prize boxes!

Gameplay
Perhaps I took it from Wikipedia PERHAPS I DID

Spiral Knights is a top-down, third-person, real-time action-adventure game. While thousands of knights may be participating in Spiral Knights at a time, any given knight interacts directly with only a small subset of them. For example, in Haven there are typically tens of knights present; however, there are tens of independent copies of Haven being maintained simultaneously. When a knight is in the Clockworks, he interacts with only three (or fewer) other knights, as well as numerous monsters.

When a party of knights begins a Clockworks level, they appear together at an entry point. Their goal is to make it to the elevator, which allows them to descend to the next level or to return to Haven. The knights' route through the level is controlled, to some extent, by a sequence of gates. For example, one kind of gate opens only when the entire party stands together on a platform in front of it; when the gate opens, another gate immediately closes behind the party, sealing off the route from which they came. There are also switches to activate, keys to retrieve, and traps to avoid.

While they proceed through the level, the knights battle monsters together in real time. A knight may wear three pieces of armor (suit, helmet, and shield) and up to two trinkets (items that grant additional protection or enhancement) at a time. Also, a knight may wield up to four weapons at a time, by choosing from among whatever swords, handguns, and bombs he possesses. There are four kinds of damage, that a knight can inflict upon a monster, depending on the weapon he uses: normal, piercing, elemental, and shadow. Each monster type is vulnerable, neutral, and resistant to certain damage types. Additionally, there are seven status effects that a knight can inflict upon a monster: freeze, shock, curse, fire, sleep, poison, and stun. Status effects do not directly damage the monster, but do affect its ability to continue fighting. Symmetrically, monsters deal certain kinds of damage and status effects to knights, who resist them to varying degrees based on their armor. Occasionally, knights find objects that temporarily bolster their defenses, that partially heal their damage, or that they can throw at monsters to inflict damage and induce status effects.

The knights collect treasure dropped by the monsters and extracted from treasure chests. They also collect minerals, which can be applied to the construction of new gates in the Arcade. Significantly, most of the items picked up by the party during its travels are shared. In this way, the rules of the game promote teamwork rather than competition among players. Knights help each other by ganging up on monsters, by healing each other, etc. However, some items are not shared, and some players prefer to play Spiral Knights solo.

On August 2, 2011, a player-versus-player feature was added, in which knights enter contests against each other, with a chance of winning prizes. The first of these contests, called Blast Network, is similar to Bomberman; players place bombs to destroy blocks and their opponents while collecting power-ups. The second contest, called Lockdown, employs gameplay similar to that of the rest of Spiral Knights. Each team of knights attempts to capture and defend control points from the opposing team. Each knight's usual shield is replaced with one of three special abilities: speed, invisibility, or strong defense.

On February 22, 2012, a system of missions was introduced. "Missions range from simple tasks like speaking with an NPC to going on a major expedition." Missions reward the knight with rank, prestige, and items.

Classes

General Roles
The Swordmaster - Swords are the basis of Spiral Knights, and as such are the most effective way to deal massive damage to enemies. They are the key to protect yourself from danger. It is important to familiarize yourself with techniques such as shield bumping, along with keeping attack patterns in mind. There are three types of swords, according to their speed, from slow, normal, and fast.
The Gunslinger - Guns allow you to stay at a distance from the enemy while still damaging them, Many guns deal full specialized damage. By doing so, you act as a "Mage class" as you are able to deal damage from afar. Guns by far have variety in which they have several types of bullet shots. They must rely on their movement ability to stay at a certain range.
The Bomber - Bombers are considered as the few, yet important. They are able to use many bombs to control waves of enemies, and they can spread status effects. Although seemingly tedious, bombs are powerful tools that can ease the difficulty any team is facing. Bombers must be able to know which bomb is effective for a certain situation, along with placing bombs for the greater good of the team
The Shieldbearer - Although not considered a class itself, every other class depends on the defense of a shield, and you should always keep one handy. The proper use of a shield will allow survival amongst the Clockworks. Being able to time your blocks perfectly allow yourself to fully optimize yourself for any fight you enter.

Lockdown Classes
Striker - Strikers are able to charge into action as they provide offense, being able to rush into and out of situations with their dash ability.
Guardian - The only class with a shield, they act as a hulking defensive tank whom can cover others in dire need of help.
Recon - Recon players use visibility cloaks and disruption fields to surprise enemies, and catch them off-guard in the heat of battle.

THE TWENTY-FIRST NIGHT OF SEPTEMBER
LOVE WAS CHANGING THE MINDS OF PRETENDERS
WHILE CHASING THE CLOUDS AWAY

OUR HEARTS WERE RINGING
IN THE KEY THAT OUR SOULS WERE SINGING
AS WE DANCED IN THE NIGHT
REMEMBER HOW THE STARS STOLE THE NIGHT AWAY...

If you didn't get it, it's an Earth, Wind, and Fire reference to the first lyric. I'm sorry, but I've been listening to EWF a lot lately ;-;

From the makers of MadWorld, Bayonetta, and Okami... (Platinum Games/Clover Studio)

YOU THOUGHT YOUR BEAT' EM UP GAME WAS COOL UNTIL NOW

From Wikipedia
Anarchy Reigns (マックス アナーキー Makkusu Anākī?, lit. "Max Anarchy") is an online beat 'em up action combat video game developed by Platinum Games, published by Sega and is being produced by Atsushi Inaba and directed by Masaki Yamanaka, set in a post-apocalyptic future.

It was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on July 5, 2012 in Japan, but the planned simultaneous release in North America, Europe and Australia is said "to be confirmed" by Sega on May 25, 2012. On June 18, 2012, Sega confirmed via Twitter that the game will be released in North America and Europe in March 2013.

The player can control one of various types of fighters using extravagant moves to defeat their opponents. (Multiplayer Modes: Tag Team, Battle Royale, Death Match, Capture the Flag, Survival, and more).

WHAT'S IN THIS GAME?!

BUT IT'S NOT OUT YET IN EUROPE OR THE US
WELL I DON'T KNOW! I've seen a lot of people play it in english (Such as the last video where Critikal and Two Best Friends plays it.) There's probably an english patch or something. You can either preorder it like I did or buy an import of it.

I kinda lowered my radar on checking who got the two millionth off topic section post, especially due to the sickness (sore throat coughing ow), but I was just wondering if anyone caught who got it? Last time it was Qwepir, but I forgot to make a topic. (especially to raise tension) So, just out of the blue, who got it? It's nothing REALLY big, but it's a neat funfact to keep around the forum wall.

The millionth post was last year on February 7.

OMG GUYS ITS TIMEEEEEE!!!!!!!11

SHMAOWZOWDICAL!!!

I'd like to thank those who weren't mentioned as well. I think it'd be a good time to look back on your posts and say, "Did I do what I wanted to? Did I convey my message, or did I mess up?" or "Did I enjoy that person? Or did I despise that person?" I think it won't hurt to say we aren't the WORST community, as people speculate. This topic was made to share my thoughts, and for you to share your thoughts, on the fun times, the bad times, and the times times. I'm not attention whoring, I'm sharing my insight on people along with the forum's entirety. If anyone wants to host a nostalgic BL server go ahead and hook us up! Also I can't wait for the 2 millionth post of offtopic! Who wants to join me screencapping whoever gets it when the time comes around?

Thanks Makanix for the flashy banner!
