Its an really nice game. I would reconmend  that you should get add-ons for the game too. Like from simtropolis, Sim city devotion, etc.
I have the Deluxe edition too. I had a large city but... I lost it from my current computer. it was on my old comp. Also we should take pics of our city and share them.

Or buy natural gas and have lots less pollution. I never use coal plants. They're too dirty.

I remember one called SimMars that changed everything to a Mars atmosphere.

Just a heads up for everyone: No matter HOW good your computer is you may still get lag in big cities.
Tips to run it at its best:
-It hates multi-cores. Set SimCity4.exe's affinity to only one processor.
-Set rendering mode to Software. Makes no sense, yes, but it works a lot better.
-Disable any forced anisotropic/antialiasing/whatever via graphics control panels. This game doesn't support those that well.
-Make sure your paging file is at least 4GB. I have mine at 4.5GB just in case.
