1. Get a yeomanry and make a claim. There are rules against stealing, but I can't punish people besides vandalizing their stuff, as we don't have an official village yet. The rules are there yes, but you still deserve 3/4 of the blame if you left valueable stuff out in the open.
2. Don't forget this is an MMORPG. People are everywhere, and there a quite a few people around us. Not in a close vicinity, but people could definitely wander upon us and go. Hmm, cool village, surely they can spare some stuff for me. (or they could be russian and completely crazy).
3. Its quite possible it could of decayed. (the decay ticks are random - theres a chance that decay ticks can be within a few minutes of each other, and wipe something out, but its very low).
