Author Topic: The Passing for L4D2 is out! R.I.P Bill :(  (Read 41298 times)

For pc it's free what did you suspect for it to double the gameplay of the hole game? seriously stop crying

Illidan where have you been valve never uses cut scenes in their games durrrr
No? But they could have done more with it. Most of L4D2 isn't as fun as I'd originally thought it would be, anyways. The way Valve presented The Passing was a lot better than it actually was.

It's free for the PC, loving deal with it.

It's fine as it is. It was fun and honestly 8 player co-op would suck.
dude, L4D2 campaigns are better than L4D's in almost every way. L4D was creepier though and it felt more scary-game like
It's still new content. New content is supposed to be fun, not a pile of unfinished stuff.

L4D2's campaigns are no where near as fun as I'd hoped. Sure, there's new content (guns, infected, zones), but what's the point in playing it when it lacks the personality L4D had?

No, for modders. We now have the original survivors using the new SI names, for instance. While the Passing is a bad example of Valve's work, it's a milestone for modders.
Then hopefully something better comes out of it.

I still don't see what people find so amazing about l4d1s dialog maybe they just didn't talk much for me but it didn't seem all that different

besides missing louis and pills
and Francis and hate

There just seemed to be more of a noticeable connection between the 4 in L4D.

The closest thing to that in L4D2 is how Rochelle treats Ellis like she's his parent.

it didn't really feel any different than any other l4d2 campaign. it was bland, boring and had no personality whatsoever.

WITCH!

Oh sorry, thought you were a Witch becuase of your crying.

What the hell? L4D2 is updating again...

L4D had no personality. Hell the campaigns didn't even follow eachother. In L4D2 the characters have a ton more personality and you can notice how they treat eachother differently as the game progresses. In L4D they all knew eachother at the start of the game. L4D2 campaigns are a ton more fun than L4D's. Like every L4D's finale was just a bigger crescendos event. Some of the campaigns in L4D2 actually have original finales, and the others are funner than L4D's. Like the concert was fun as hell.

same must be bug fixes
MAYBE VALVE HAS A SURPRISE FOR US

I still love the 'hold out' feel of l4d1 finals
Yeah, that's true.

Guys, atleast we can agree this is better than Crash Course right? I mean the new infected is awesome and the M60 and Golf Club are awesome too.

Meanwhile, at Valve!

I got done playing The Passing with my friends about 10 minutes ago. And...well...

I was generally unimpressed. The only two things that kept me actually interested were crates and hopes of some involvement with the L4D1 survivors in the end (and the M60 aka big loving assrape machine)

It felt just...effortless. I feel like it actually has a lot less effort put into it from Valve than they did with the rest of the L4D2 campaigns. It just doesn't fit in for me. Sure, it was dark for once but it felt like the usual stuffty L4D2 campaign in terms of the path from Safehouse A to Safehouse B.

Another main fit was the serious lack of the L4D survivors. You barely see them for 20 seconds in the beginning unless you sit there like a couch potato, and then you see them sitting there covering your scrawny little asses because for some reason everyone feels the need to run around in totally different directions and get pulled/pounced/head humped/charged/brutally raped. Literally they played no role in this chapter but shoot things for you.

Another lame part was the loving finale. Like seriously it's loving easter egg hunting except its over a 20 mile radius and nobody feels the need to stick together for some reason, wtf.

I'm hoping that playing this campaign won't let down my total expectations for the whole update. I can't wait to see chainsaw massacre or other mutations.

@ solid never saw the m60 yet :c

It only carries 125 bullets and it's so magical, it has it's own achievement.
