Author Topic: Religious Stupidity  (Read 34807 times)

Both sides are trying to convince the other of the truth.
I love how both sides are too stubborn to realize the other side is too stubborn to be convinced of anything.
This is why I don't muck around with religion; it's an arguement that will never end.
So true... The only people that these discussions really affect are those that are unsure. If you're debating religion, chances are you are firm in your beliefs and thus won't budge on your opinions.
No, we're trying to stop you from infected other people with your loaded bullstuff.
Infect? Again, people are free to believe what they will. If they want to believe in a higher power, what difference does it make to you?
My thoughts of religion is that everyone is free to believe what they want to believe. I'm don't badger people to convert and blah blah blah. i just let the person be who they want to be. Everyone has their own opinions, and I'm not one to judge.
Well put.
It's fun to still talk about it; the exchange of ideas and beliefs is an important thing. However, one should not try to covert the other. Instead of brown townyzing and finding flaws in other peoples beliefs, we should try to, instead, develop our own.
Aptly stated. Discussing religion is fine as long as it isn't taken too seriously. If you come in with the intent of converting everyone who doesn't believe exactly what you believe, you're going to be very frustrated.

Part one of your claim:
"All Christianity bend to Evolution which is new evidence."
Part two:
"However, some Christians don't."
No, you misinterpreted what I said.

I said Christianity as a whole has changed to accept evolution, but there are still some who hold on to the more ancient belief of creation. This is how denominations of Christianity are made.

Has anyone noticed that the Creationists aren't the ones insulting the Evolutionists every other line? I very much want to, but am more civilized than that.
That's because the evolutionists in this argument aren't saying ridiculously idiotic things.

Ok, that site had some flaws. I shouldn't have used that >.>
Something like this should be more appropriate.

Interesting site, however one shouldn't really be teaching students how to think nor what to think, but rather present ways of learning and viewing the world, both the known, presumed, and unknown, in different matters, so that the students may make open choices to their personal beliefs, as well as be open to listen to other beliefs. In other words, teachers should teach their students how to learn and use critical thinking, not how to think.

Oh come now. Creationists can be just as rude as naturalists, and as you said before, there is no need to generalize.

Okay, now that Lalam has started another religion war, we now have to deal with huge religion arguments.

My side?

Flying Spaghetti Monster

Because all other gods eventually become hateful/violent in some way.

I am now ragequitting this thread. Good day.

I like my God! :D

But I hear the Flying Spaghetti Monster is very fair and accepting. :o

The truth is that you are extremely ignorant. If you're offended by the truth it's no wonder you're a creationist. Additionally, my mother has on more than one occasion threatened me on the basis that I am an atheist.

Great.

Another religion war.

Way to go, Lalam.
It's not as if the entire forum has to participate in it. If you don't enjoy debate then don't get involved in it.

Additionally, my mother has on more than one occasion threatened me on the basis that I am an atheist.
I can feel the love from over here.

But I hear the Flying Spaghetti Monster is very fair and accepting. :o

Why do you think I like it?

I really hope some of you know think I'm kidding

Where are you getting this information from? The Bible claims that it is correct, and so any Christian that doesn't believe that the Bible is correct isn't really a Christian. Harsh, but that's how it works. The Bible states clearly that there is no middle ground, only those with Jesus (me) and those against Jesus (You). So, I was indeed wrong saying it was contradictory. It's wrong.

You claiming that the universe didn't have a beginning. That's ridiculously idiotic.

Anyone else seen that south park episode when God comes?

Stop getting information from the bible it was written, and edited many times, and is now misread to start many religions that have the tendency to fight each other.

"Baptist Church of Westboro"

You claiming that the universe didn't have a beginning. That's ridiculously idiotic.

Idiot.

All of the evidence points towards (yes, all; if you find an astronomer who has spent a significant time studying the universe and doing peer-reviewed research who disagrees I'll eat my hat) the universe expanding at a extremely rapid rate around 13.7 billion years ago. What happened before this point no one knows.

And you can't be so stupid as to call the notion of the universe always existing idiotic when you yourself say your god has always existed.

The truth is that you are extremely ignorant. If you're offended by the truth it's no wonder you're a creationist. Additionally, my mother has on more than one occasion threatened me on the basis that I am an atheist.
First off, I'm not talking about the argument. I'm talking about the insults
I have a zero tolerance for bullstuff like this.

Seriously, forget you.
Secondly, it's your mother. That's a monarchy. No arguing involved. Plus it's a threat, not an insult.

I can name many wars started over even the tinyest religious differences. I have to say, the 4+ Crusades were the worst, considering how they killed Jews along the way. As far as I know, Jesus was Jewish. wot
