Author Topic: Packers 5th Anniversary Release  (Read 24520 times)

how about resurrecting the ol' auto-rocket launcher?

I didn't make that.

SSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII----

Oversized text does not make you awesome, guys.

Packer, great vehicles. My only complaints are this:

- The loader dozer's cabin seems too high up for some reason.
- the hover scout doesn't move very smoothly. I guess this is unavoidable, because it just has invisible wheels, right?
-The hover scout is too slow. It's no fun to drive around.

EDIT: just out of curiosity, why do you need the support enabled to use the vehicles?

Packer, great vehicles. My only complaints are this:

- The loader dozer's cabin seems too high up for some reason. He made these from the Lego sets...
- the hover scout doesn't move very smoothly. I guess this is unavoidable, because it just has invisible wheels, right? Can't really be avoided, but I agree.
-The hover scout is too slow. It's no fun to drive around. Could be abit faster.

EDIT: just out of curiosity, why do you need the support enabled to use the vehicles? Dunno

Basically what Jacob said plus, Support_RockRaiders houses all of the files, the texture files in particular are very large and I didn't want to have a heap of separate vehicles all using the same textures as each other forcing users to download and redownload them for each vehicle in separate folders. It also houses all of the support scripts as well some vehicles reusing each others properties and once again I didn't want to waste datablocks in the process.

Support_RockRaiders = Less Download, Less Datablock usage.

Also the complaint about the hover scout, nothing you can do about it unless I turn it into a flying vehicle which defeats its original purpose, though I will consider beefing up the speed of it a bit. But I will say, its original use was intended for transport in a cave system that in fact worked great but in open spaces is very dull.

Suggestion1: Make a map that is dimly lit, not like destruct, that's too dark.
Suggestion2: Rock monster AI, like the one in Lego
Suggestion3: Rock Raiders weapon set.
Suggestion4: Drill car vehicle, with traction sets.
Suggestion5: Wep pack may include Dynamite Launcher, Wound Cleaner (kinda like medic pack), and any mining tools one can think of.
Once again, Packer, you are ahead of the rest.

These vehicles are excellent. You should add sounds to them.

Also some of the vehicles (not the Loader Dozer) should go faster (except the Tunnel Scout).

After Space guys various posts I go an idea on how to reduce the datablocks once more so each vehicle loads only what it needs, I'll hopefully be adding it into the next update. Been really busy with my school work and I got to get my character done by Wednesday or I'm screwed.
