You idiots obviously think that this Grandma is going to be a hardcore gamer and wants to forget with all the problems that windows offers.

I would suggest a Mac if the money is not an issue. They are seemingly simple to navigate with and have a polished, cleaner look.

Windows 7 now has near to that same user-friendly interface.

portable electronics really have me feeling that the entire macOS experience is much like running little "apps"
you want to run something, and it feels just that, you pop up the apps and run the tasks. much like early 90s computing.

while on windows, multitasking feels so much better. i dont feel like im running a bunch of programs, i am just performing tasks at will without any thought on opening things up.
mac really accentuates the application running. you are very much aware that documents need this app, and this program does this task.
windows program running is fluid.
its hard to describe, only a windows savvy user understands it.

apple products (inc macOS) all feel like little kid toys.

I believe your grandmother should get a Mac because it's much simpler, she will have no need for customization or gaming. If she's anything like a typical grandmother, she'll only want to play online solitaire anyways.

i like windows, but your grandma should get a mac

Tom

Maybe you should take your grandma to a computer store and have her try both out so she can see which interface she likes better.

My grandparents don't know crap about computers, and have been using the same Computer with windows XP for years.

Mac. They're simple and your grandmother should have no trouble navigating it.

WHERES THAT INTERNETING APP DO I HAVE TO BUY IT AGH GOD DAMN WINDOWS MICROSOFT OMG IM GETTING A MAC :(

but yeah he has a point. even though my grandmother uses windows 7 and can't even figure out how to navigate to my documents.

Unless your grandmother is a career gamer, Mac. Holy stuff is it easier. You buy it, you plug it in, you give it registration stuff, and that's it. If she has trouble with her eyes you can zoom in with the magic mouse. They're faster and more contained, in that there's no big box with a dozen wires plugging into it. The Finder is easy, and you don't get stuff every day telling you that some random thing has expired, which would just confuse her. I doubt she'll want to do a lot of right clicking, which might also confuse her, but if she does it can be switched in system settings. The list if pro-Mac reasons goes on. Although they're more expensive, it is truly worth it.

Considering she's an 80 year old woman, Mac.
