Is this game beginner-friendly? I've never played these sorts of games and I kind of want to get interested.

Hoo, boy, this game is not beginner friendly. Expect to invest atleast 2 days worth of training time to learn how to not starve to death or flood your fortress trying to irrigate.

4. make a large tunnel out of magma source/resevoir into booze supply
