Am i the only one who dislikes this?

I mean, really, ever played a videogame and got a "drop-off" ending? i mean the ones that, even if you defeat the final boss/level/whatever, and the credit rolls, the next time you start the game, it drops you straight where you saved before you defeated the boss/level/whatever, meaning you'll never like, "Finish" the game forever.
Anyone who plays the Professor Layton and the [something], Legend of Zelda DS games and etc will probably know what i mean, it just feels like you've done nothing after you finished it, and all it asks for you to do is to just go finish up stuff you missed before, and even after that, you still will get dropped to before the boss the next time you try and finish the final level.

So, anyone else disliking this? i prefer endings where you get to do whatever you want, and be free in a happy ending, basically, like Super Mario 64, you finish the game, but you will actually have defeated the final boss, and you get the cake.
And Pokemon Mystery dungeon, where instead of just being dropped off at the final dungeon after finishing it, the story actually continues, it feels so much better.

*cough* New Vegas *cough*

I thought borderlands let you play after that final boss.

I thought borderlands let you play after that final boss.

It does but theres nothing to do after 2nd Playtruh

You've defeated me.
Do it again.

It's because secretly the last bosses explode on death and nothing DOES happen afterwords because it was all exploded

I hate it mostly because it kinda forces you to stay away from the Mission until you finish all the other Assignments. In Mass Effect, you gotta stop Saren from bringing back the Reapers. Pretty important, huh? Well, it has to wait, because if it didn't, you wouldn't be able to do anything else after defeating Saren. In Mass Effect 2 they let you go on after resolving the Collector issue, so you can save all the little things for later. All I did was complete the Loyalty Missions, the primary Missions, and then went through the Omega 4 Relay.

Like when playing halo 2 for pc because you dont have an xbox so like you see that ending...

and your like rage D:

What kind of dipstuff gets Halo 2 for PC?

At least Fable TLC lets you keep playing past the end boss...

...If you sit through the credits.
