Author Topic: Leaving the country.  (Read 2240 times)

Because you are still an American citizen, you would still be under the influence of any legislation passed under her administration - except for local laws, which would be dictated by the country you move to.

As such, it wouldn't really benefit you to move out of the country.  The only thing you it would bring you would being able to say "Hey guys I'm leaving because I don't like the leadership."

Not trying to insult you personally, but every election there is some person or people who claim they are going to leave if so-and-so is elected.  They never do.  Even so, leaving because things aren't going your way is not a very reasonable way of dealing with the situation.  As a citizen, you should take the good with the bad and work to improve the situation rather than giving up and leaving.

As for the lack of influence of one vote, that is the nature of democracy.  Your vote joins tens of millions of others to send one message.  If everyone shared the same mentality and decided not to vote, then we would determine nothing.  Instead of helping to write our own history, it would be written by the Supreme Court or some other body which is outside of our control.

I heard there was a poll where about 65% said she isn't even qualified to be president
I doubt she'll be elected.
It's not like general American citizens are that stupid.
Obama wasn't even fit to be president. He had no experience whatsoever. People just like to claim "I voted the first black president in office." And much voting fraud was going on at the time.

Obama used to be the Senator of Illinois.

Obama used to be the Senator of Illinois.
a senator from illinois

but that's not being in power of much. it's just he took a place in the senate. that does qualify as some experience.

so far, we don't even know for sure if palin is even going to run in 2012. for all we know, she could just be yanking the chains of america and bluffing about her considerations.

though, if she does run and win, i won't care as long as i can get a job and maintain it for more than 4 years. i came to america when gas was between $2-$3 and much of what we bought was maybe $0.50 cheaper than what it is now. not much has changes for me, so unless gas goes back to being around $0.16, i won't give any president much praise.

Im pretty sure "Im leaving the country is (subject) is elected" is just an exaggeration.

He didn't have a Greencard?

If she does get elected, let me know where you're going, I'll come with you.

If I had to go anywere but the USA I have no clue were I would go.
