Yeah over time though, so god damn busy with game development from Zelda World, Rock Raiders and a Microsoft Imagine Cup game contest which the head of my 3D school was the finalist judge for. She's also my boss D:
Well if this turns out well, I'd love to see you do that other strategy lego game. It was about the space agents or something, I forge the name.

Alpha team?

Alpha team?
THAT'S THE GAME.

I hope he remakes that. I loved that game.

I'm really impressed by what you'be achieved so far with this and I hope you continue to work on this and finish it. Do you plan on making any significant improvements to the game over the original, or are you simply going for an authentic recreation in a first-person perspective?  I'd love to see some of the base-building implemented from the original.

This could actually make a really good CO-OP game if you wanted to avoid the difficulties of programming AI "helpers".

Its following the original games lead but significant changes must be made for the game to be enjoyable and playable. As for a lot of features for the game that all depends on who I can find to do any sort of scripting for it. At the moment its entirely Online Co-op and there will never be "AI" helpers, though I thought about AI defenders depending on how the game ends up.

Well, are the rock monsters and other creatures going to be in the game? Presumably they'd be controlled through AI? Could you make it so that maps are generated as a grid of interchangeable tiles? This would make creating the maps significantly easier and perhaps even open up the possibility for an end-user level editor.

Also, I wouldn't mind if the wall textures/geometry were remade. Perhaps a mesh which has some of the features of the rock face protruding from it? Maybe you could have a small selection of slightly different tiles for each wall "type" so the caverns aren't so monotonous.

There are so many ways in which the concepts and graphics from the original game can be improved upon. Truly an exciting opportunity.

Explain what you mean by "interchangeable tiles", also the reason why the caves are literally boxes is because I don't have a scriptor to write a cave generation system that would rotate accordingly to what's mined and what's not. I could of sworn I explained this. Also about the cave tile textures, when I've done a proper level they won't be so repetitive, though I may do variations in the far future. I would also need a texture artist for that.

I just meant that each "chunk" of material is of the same size so if you had a terrain generator it would just have to say "Put tile type "hard rock" in sector A12".

Anyway, carry on. I hope you can find some one with the talents you need to keep the project going.

in the original game you could go first person :D
but all you could do is walk around

That and initially It shows up an error saying it cant load or is missing d3_463.dll or something similar.
